Is Hayden Young worth roughying back in?

Still has the role and 2 big scores once he learnt to hit a target.

Or just wait on Stewart, Sicily, Sinclair, etc?

(Nic Martin the other obvious good option but got no room for him as my midfeild is pretty stacked (Touk M6) and backline ridiculously thin (D'Ambrosio D3:tearsofjoy:))
with top 18 next 2 rounds then dpp for martin not the worst if youre sold on him

Yikes Mass at D3, I thought my backline was thin.

Ryan, Daicos, Sheezel, Williams, Howes, Clohesy

Is it too late to bring in Sam Darcy?

Have already missed a major price rise ($80K) so am behind the pack and he mostly plays key forward which typically means some lower scores but he has looked good and potentially could still make plenty given he is still rookie priced ($202K)?

Nah.

Yeah, it's a good point but I don't have any midfielders from the bye teams at all so bringing in another mid means guys like Sanders and McKercher are on the bench and I'm fielding lots of lower scoring/useless rookies elsewhere.

Yeah, it's pretty awful.

Traded out Young after Round 2 to get Heeney in.

Then was going to Stewart last week but went Green instead (which given Stew is dropping $$ worked out).

Not only is Mass at D3 but before last weekend, I still had Coffield, Gibcus and Reid D6-8 (Gibcus became Brown)

Final report on Lloyd Meek trade.

Hmmmmmmm, instead of dumping an 84 BE (already cheap) ruck for Meek, i can make similar cash by downgrading Butters or Serong with a 155 BE to a Nic Martin 35 BE this week. I'm comfy with that risk based on form. I'd back Martin to score similar to Serong/Butters on current form anyway (for a few weeks).
Jackson simply covers Grundy this week, then Gawn next week. Gawn/Jackson then Grundy/Jackson. The DPP link with that champion Livingstone is 100% made for these 2 weeks.
Plus at the end i dont wake up hating myself when i see i have now created a lesser team by carrying Lloyd Meek at R2. I simply have Nic Martin instead of 1 of Serong/Butters for a few weeks, plus adding an extra primo...for just 2 trades. If they suit my mid season byes i'll grab Serong or Butters back in 3 weeks when only about 50K difference in price to Martin. No faith in any midfielder remaining at or over $650K for long. Those two look topped out to me.

Butters/Serong > Martin
Jordan > Rozee
Unlimited funds and i would choose Rowell or Neale this week. Thought Neale looked shit hot before a precautionary rest and makes for a nice POD.
2 Swans off field, a better team than last week, plus retain the better ruck combo using 2 trades only. Then flip Jackson back to Forwards after Rnd 6 and see what Shrek does to his scoring. Martin goes to defence along with Roberts. Nett result is an extra primo and making actual progress in midfield rather than just scabbing for a few points this week.
No boost used and no Meek at the end of it to require upgrading and more wasted trades later. Those thinking Grundy wont be a top 6 ruck are kidding themselves....would you prefer to finish with a solo rucking R2 at a top 8 mob that is a known scorer ?.... or a solo rucking R2 at a bottom 4 mob that is not a known scorer ?

I had Heeney/Grundy/Daicos/Roberts/Jordan. Happy to hold the first 4. Will still field 22 live bodies.

Next week chasing cash again with 2 of Closey/Graham/Comben. Gawn covered by Jackson.

I can definitely see the point going Grundy to English/Gawn, and even Marshall who is in form for an extra 100K. Those are upgrades, however still see no guarantee of extra points from here on at R2 unless it is +$185K to English for me. English is overpriced and a 154 BE...the Grundy up to English trade will most likely be minimum 50K possibly 100K cheaper within a few weeks if i want to do it.

Which rookies would you be expecting to drop out in either scenario?

It's not a choice of Martin + Howes vs. Young + McKercher over 2 weeks for example - if your M8 score is just as likely to drop out over your D6 score, then it really comes down to Martin vs. Young - who do you back to score more?

Getting Heeney and Green in was a good move as they are must haves.

You can always throw a Roberts down back once he gets DPP to fix your backline which is what I'll be doing.

You think Grundy is making it to $600k? I don’t see it.

71, 99, 114 and 93 last 4 weeks. Against easy ruck opposition. Has Witts, Meek, Darcy/LJ, TDK/Pitto and English to come before his bye.

I think he’ll settle sub 550k and a trade to English will cost 100k plus, and the points you’re missing out on…

At this stage, Grundy > Meek nets $150k and you’re getting similar points.

I also think trading Butters/Serong is madness.

Eventually, yes. Either way 550K when English is at 650K. thats 85K just for starters. I've never been one for throwing cash away.

Was trading out Daicos "madness" ?? They'll be getting him back shortly.
I bet many traded out Dawson to a different Primo and didnt regret it.

When a guy is 650K with a monster BE they are on the market as far as i;m concerned.
People will spend trades for just 100K from a rook downgrade....at least i get 2 primo's in my mids instead of 1, and another rook off the field.

5 boosts remaining?

It’s weird isn’t it.. he goes from one of the most damaging forward half players to getting 40 behind the footy but not really impacting or translating to wins. I wouldn’t think a 17 goal winger is easy to replace.
You’d think McGrath could hold down the defensive transition role and put Martin up the field again.

I wonder how long Brad Scott keeps things as it is. 2-2 but an embarrassing show on Friday night.
This is a pretty fair analysis I think.

Full disclosure, Martin owner from round 1 and held (very close to selling round 2) but given the volume of junk i.e. not horrible not elite + opportunity cost of Scott fielding him in alternative roles where he can add value I'm not sure the role will hold. Hoping he remains stubborn or Martin's DE improves. Right now it's a volume game and with those disposal numbers I'm happy to stay on the ride

We have chatted about this.....

"I support Sydney and am incredibly bias...."

But I'm all for this wild trade. Butters doing well, but trading at peak cash is the mother of all cash grabs. Gl to you

For you and everyone else trading in Meek, what happens this week when he scores 70 against Witts? Are you going to keep him or be forced to trade him to Grundy and Jackson again a week later when they both drop 100+.

Unless Meek continues to drop bombs he isn't going to make much money.

Most of the posts ive seen here this week I'm wondering if you all have 100 trades.

For me i have Jackson up forward and was always looking to upgrade Grundy at some point. So Grundy to Meek for me means if Meek is well Meek then i get a cash grab, used to upgrade other positions now and bring in Heeney next week. Then if Meek is no good i just move Jackson to R2 grab a little cash and worry about upgrading the ruck later in the season.

That's a large worry and hole of 20-30 points if you playing Jackson R2 to plug elsewhere. Gawn and Heeney aren't going to drop 150s each week to cover either.

Food for thought.

Heeney only needs to walk out on the ground to get 150. Me bringing him in is the only way to halt his scoring :moustache:

He looks the goods and has great job security so not the worst option
