I like it. I don't have the funds to get two this week, but sketching out plans it's Walsh this week and probably Sic next (or Gulden or Dawson). Juicy prices.
Depending on news of Zilliams and Massimo, I may hold them for one more price rise. Save a Boost.

And just grab Walsh and McAualiffe/Fwd rookie for Sanders and Caroll. Then can grab Sic next week.
BE 115, so shouldn't change too much...

Can understand the reasonings for holding Powell. Just personally not very impressed with bringing him in since Fremantle game, at least has made some money. Also with as bad as North look, the less players if there’s I can have (pretty much everyone outside Sheezel), the better.

Finally get rid of Coffield + Stewart covered by Graham this week and next week should be pretty easy. Jack Carroll on the chopping block, might just be a one down week next week.
As much as I love doing something more flashy see above

Thinking it might just be most straightforward to do these moves

Am a little concerned with Walsh injury history but equally as concerned as fading him when many will be jumping on this week at a good price. This would still leave me with decent flexibility going forward with Graham covering Stewart this week

Already looking at round 8 trades kenties.

Feel like I need either a premo defender upgrade for Williams or a premo forward.

Which one would you prioritise?

Martin or Houston for Williams

Macrae for Dempsey.

That's what I'm kinda thinking but want to see this week with Libba back before I grab Macrae.

How about Meek > Grundy ?? :p:p:p

Biggies a spud consider yourselves warned guys.
I won't be repeating it all week. If you don't read the thread it's on you.
What do you mean?

I’m working on your strategy - to have a loop player on every line :p

Definitely can’t afford it.

Will use a boost and go with Dempsey /Massimo>Rookie I think. Walsh is certainly the target regardless.
Love the rollercoaster that is 15 different scenarios in a week. Short week this week, maybe get it sorted in 10?

Current plans as of now:
Fisher>H.Garcia
Sanders>Walsh

Need to keep an eye on Zilliams and Mass at selection. In a way, them being dropped would help as have Daicos/Martin/Yeo that need to head back!

I think it's worth it.
Although, how many boosts you got left ?

Better to keep the $ cash gen going.
And definitely time to start completing some lines.
Rookies may start to dry up and injuries will inevitably come soon, so gotta try to make up ground before then
1 boost left if I use one this week.
I can get petracca next week with 2 trades.
Last boost will probably be Ryan.
Boosts = sp's.
Complete mids is a whole lot of my work done.

I've had a quick look at who I've traded out so far:
  • Bonner Mass Williams - this week
  • Dempsey - last week
  • Sanders Windsor Howes
  • Fyfe Jordon
The only one that had some good value was Dempsey, about $150K
But, on average it would be a tad under $100K per trade, so much lower than previous years - that where all my trades have gone :'(
What are you guys happy to part with per trade?

My team feels a lot further ahead than this time last year though - with no boost left too!
Lots of simple/ boring one up one down to come in the next few weeks before the MBR rounds.

Macrae is too big a risk mate. Comben averages more than him even with the tonne last week.
Other than that it's still an awesome team

Thoughts please ..

Jessie Hogan (suspended) down to Hugo Garcia (on the bubble)

Sanders (Bevo factor) up to either Bontempelli (ultimate must have - is now the time?) or Eroll Gulden (who may still win the Brownlow)

Risk is just part of the game, it's which risks you are willing to pull the trigger on.

I want a fwd who I can keep.
It's either Macrae and Adams - and Adams is too injury prone to add to my team

If I had to guess most my trades have probably made less than 100k 😂

I must say there was a moment I thought Young would be involved in a third trade :straining:

It’s a good question. Corrections early obviously you don’t expect any return.

Thereafter I feel like $150k profit is benchmark for a “successful” cow. You hope and need a few to make big bank like $250-300k, which is usually rooks getting to $4xxk.

And I guess when boosting to stretch up to a big gun, whatever you get on the third trade to make it work is acceptable.

But what do I know, you caned me at the weekend!

Last boost being used, then one up one down til big byes.

Trades are a big gamble but needed to get closer to finished Defence and Mids.

Outs: McGrath, Zilliams and T.Powell
Ins: Walsh, Dawson and H.Garcia.

Shifted all three of Daicos, Martin and Roberts down back.

Fwds are a shambles and need some Gawn but happy with this pic for this time of season. IMG_5519.png

Ideally, you want $150K as you've stated, but I'm far too impatient for that.

That's a good team, keep doing whatever you are doing - you are killing it this year.

...
Here's my theory and I'm sticking to it - at least, it's my excuse anyway :p

I've gone through a lot of trades and all of my boosts!
Why did I do that?
Apart from being impatient, I just see SC has a way of evening things out.
We've had so many good rookies early, it will get hard to have any decent downgrade options going forward - e.g. really would SC'ers trade Biggie in if there were better options?

Apart from the mid-season draft, we don't have many more rookies to downgrade to - so even if your cash cows have fatten up well - who will they be traded to? Going into MBRs rounds when you need as many warm bodies as possible.
We'll see how this theory stands up soon enough, in the meantime - I'm ready for best 22, as I have had enough of my team yo-yoing depending on who is out on their byes etc

Like everyone else here I'm looking to trade in Walsh, I only have 50k cash in the bank though so none of my options are looking great.

Probably my best option is to trade Dempsey to a cheap rookie and then trade Massimo to Walsh which would leave me with about 5k.

Another option would be trading Sanders to a cheap rookie and then trading Tom Powell to Walsh which would leave me with about 70k.

I could also just trade that flog Tom Green to Walsh and pocket 15k before he loses any more cash but that would probably be too sideways.

None of the cheap rookies look all that appealing either, I already have the Saints Garcia so the Dogs Garcia is probably the best of the rest.

I think trading hard and fast will be beneficial for the rest of the season.

The tough part will come when deciding whether to use players like Reid, Roberts, Fyfe and now Clohesy as either upgrades or keeper/bench coverage players.

Until byes they are feasible to keep as Def or Fwd 5 & 6 or Mid 7 or 8 and slowly upgrade around them.

The next 5 weeks will see a drought in rookie downgrade options it happens every year. If they haven’t had a run by now it is unlikely they are ready for the One’s or being held back for valid reasons.

This time of year is when players come back from LTI’s and push out the rookies we have traded down to. Leaving chances of donuts and cash growth a risk.

Trading fast for me was always the plan this year to get as close to 18 genuine Premo’s playing for each bye round midseason.

If I target Gawn and 1 more premo Midfielder (2 x 2 down & 1 up) and 3 Fwds and 1 Defender (4 x 1 up & 1 down) by the early byes that is another 14 trades and the hardest part will be finding the 8 viable rookies to invest in.

I could be ruthless and trade possible keeper rookie priced players I started season with but that could leave team weakened in the run home.

This is the infinite SuperCoach Conundrum!!

We are on the same ship - how's your team shaping up.

Care to post it?

I posted in another thread north have 3 viable rookies left un played. Hardeman, George and Maley. George will be the pick of them.
The rookie well will run dry soon.
I'm trying to finish my mids before it does. That should happen next week.
I'll then work on more speculative picks for my forwards and defenders. I still have good rookies on those lines so it can wait. I have ideas already for defence but the forwards are going to take some guesswork
