There's a scoring system.
If his and other players' games were scored correctly per that system, then whether he shat rainbow coloured sparkles or showed as much 'flair' as some other blokes while he was racking them up makes no difference.
If the argument is that the scoring system could be tweaked (e.g. discounting the kick-in play-ons), fair enough, think a fair few would get on board with that 100%. He benefitted from a huge volume of scoring acts that are rewarded highly.
But the score is the score at the end of the day, and he got 30+ kicks alone, most long, most hitting their targets, some intercept / contested marks, the odd ball get etc., do people want them to start taking off a volume discount or something?

It seemed like most of his kick outs were 20m chips to the pocket. Which he was still getting 4 points for most of them.
