Maybe they give us pick 48 back and we on-pass that to the Swans?

In other words, pick 25 for Parker and Daniel?
Yeah good chance of that but the article does mention future pick for Parker so hopefully we keep the pick somewhere in that range - hopefully a bit earlier!

The very real alternative for the pick is we recruit another kid that doesn’t play for 3 years. And when he does we realise he doesn’t have the traits we hoped for and not much comes from it.

Daniel improves our team right now, which is what we need.
suck on that copium harder bro 😝
Nah but really I get what you’re saying but that price is

Yeah.

People can get their knickers in a twist about it, but ultimately Daniel would be a back flank lock for us for a few years.

A second round pick with something reasonable coming back isn't much to pay for that kind of certainty.

I reckon feeding that line to Ralphy is probably 90% about getting a door open at Whitten Oval. At the moment they seem to be stonewalling our previous approaches.

Friendship ended with future second rounder for Callum Coleman Jones

Pick #25 for Caleb Daniel is now my best friend

You draft a kid at 25 in what is touted as the deepest draft potentially ever. Good clubs will nail picks in the 20’s this year.

There is no world where pick involving pick 25 for Caleb Daniel is good business.

For comparison, Geelong are going to get Bailey Smith for pick 17 and a packet of chips.

God help this club if we finish bottom 2 next year more like it..
Yep, LDU out the door by mid-season and a complete implosion of season 2025 once the team knows he's going.

Then come young fellas wanting out, no FAs will cone near the joint, then the unravelling of the administration.

It's not hard to see where we end up if we don't start winning next season.

Bailey Smith is an unstable prima donna with a very average kick. I'd think twice about even paying pick 25 for him.

If we trade a top 25 pick for a bloke the Dogs don't want, a sub 170cm not particularly defensively minded 28 year old HBF, Brady has both got rocks in his head and also needs an exceptionally firm rooting.

It’d be incredibly hard to fathom and honestly it would make me question what in the f*** we are doing given the holes in our list.

I’m not against getting him in. Pick 25 is our second live pick at the moment unless we can split 2. He might be back in the best 22 for them but he is definitely on the fringe and negligent to pay if he does get sent back to the VFL at Bevo’s whim. It’s too high a price with his salary.

Houston is committed to moving back to Melbourne.
Regardless of what the media is reporting he is not staying in Adelaide next year. That much is clear.

North was the first club to reach out to Houston and his management around the prospect of coming back home.

Hence why we have been in constant dialogue.

Melbourne got wind of this first and were initially the frontrunners.
Then the Blues.

And then Leppitsch has gotten involved the past week or so because Collingwood look at us like were some irrelevant party who have no right to land a player like Houston.

So Pies are now front runners but Port would rather deal with us. We hadn't played finals in 8 years and aren't considered a competitor.
If talks do break down then Houston will agree to come to us.
But this is an outside chance and I still believe he'll get to the Pies.

I wish we were more of an attractive destination but we aren't.

You want to defend the poor finish to the year, defend it all you want.
It hurts us when were trying to sell ourselves this time of year. Remind yourselves next time you go out of your way to step over another shit loss.
