Why would we do that?
We know we have the best offer.

It’s up to Pies and or Blues to get a deal done.

Look at the state of our list.
Now we want to show pride and backbone?

If AA calibre talent and senior players are interested in getting to us, get on all fours and do what you can to get it done.

Like I said. We need a shit tone of luck to go our way for once.
Houston in sees us playing finals inside 24 months maximum.
I listened to my first bit of trade radio this morning and they (Kane and whoever was on with him early) said exactly this - they said if North land Houston, Parker and Daniel as well as Darling (even though not convinced about Darling’s value) the club should be looking at around eight wins next season and be pushing for finals the season after.

I believe every media or social media report, or journalist blatant clickbait fabrication, which portrays North as inept and deserving of scorn and contempt. But I also dismiss out of hand anything that might be indicative of North doing well or looking to improve. And then I justify it by using the word "fact."
This might not be a healthy mental state to be in, but if that's true then it's Brady's fault not mine. Fact.

NORTH OR PORT? POWER URGED TO GIVE HOUSTON ULTIMATUM

Tim Michell

Former Port Adelaide midfielder Kane Cornes has urged the club to tell Dan Houston he won’t be traded to Collingwood.

Amid reports the Power board stepped in to kybosh a deal between the Power, Gold Coast and Magpies on Monday which would have sent Houston to Collingwood, Cornes urged the Power to hold Houston if he wasn’t willing to be traded to North Melbourne.

The Roos have a future first-round pick on the table as part of their offer for Houston and have presented the best offer to Port Adelaide during the trade period.

“The only option for Port Adelaide is to tell Dan Houston, you are not going to Collingwood. The deal is too hard to get done. If you want to get to Victoria, you can go to North Melbourne, or you can stay here,” Cornes told Trade Radio.

He added: “It was an amazing deal for Collingwood. If Collingwood could have pulled this off, essentially, a future first for Dan Houston and some steak knives, 36, Joe Richards and John Noble…it was an amazing deal for Collingwood.

“I was racking my brain on this, and I was like, ‘why Rory Atkins?’ The only thing I thought was, well maybe you get Lukosius cheaper. I was thinking Port Adelaide would get Lukosius, Atkins, Richards and pick 13 and only give Houston.

Then when I read they were giving their future first pick as well, I was like, ‘no way’. I was so outraged by it. I couldn’t work it out.”
A ‘news’ article about a rant from a shock jock.. trade week is a beautiful thing..

LOL WEST COAST! Did Brady train their team or something

That’s awful.

Shame.

Again not every club rates the draft like some people on here.... WC have got mature experienced players in being Baker and Owies and still have two picks early teens to still attack the draft. If they think it's pretty even then makes sense to them... if they want Allan he will be around then as will Gerryn

That is so gross for the eagles.

They could've kept pick 3 and traded Barrass for the Hawks 14, and used 14 for Baker.

Instead, they cough up pick 3 for 12 & 14 and send 14 for Baker.

I'd be fuming if I was a WC supporter. You'd want to hope they get something goof through the door now for Barrass.

Hawks future 1st

The media don't want us to have anyone nice. And that's our fault. We are a joke to the footy world.

Even if you think we are paying over for Houston and desperate to get him (not sure how you expect to attract a player to a 5 year bottom 4 team but anyways) blah blah, even getting a player with his status (overrated or not) will help change this awful narrative. And only help us landing or negotiate for players in the future.

Even if its not a real thing, the influence is real.

I hope the hawks walk away from a deal

They already have battle, they are backing in frost and Sicily will be better with battle there

But they have kept Barass, which maybe they prefer rather than a pointy pick

Kane Cornes believes Carlton landing pick three from West Coast will see them finish as one of the winners of the trade period.
The mooted deal " which could go through " on Tuesday sees the Blues handing over picks 12, 14 and forward Matt Owies for three.
Well bugger me, they went and gone done it....

Wreck em Ralphy using his media clout to influence trade and pick value to benefit his beloved Richmond again.

He’s been doing it for the past 2 months on that Fox footy trade show leading into trade week.

I thought something was fishy the moment he said Richmond could have 7 first round picks from his heavily one-sided trade scenarios, but when his right hand came up from under the table with a wet sock and a smile on his face I realised he’s going fully dodgey now..
