So Port essentially just improved their pick 39 into 36 and 58 down to 50.
Lost their F1 in the process and got 13 and 29 for Houston. Not really counting fringe players like Atkins and Richards, it essentially means they gave F1 for Lukosius. No way is he worth a first round pick.

I may have been slightly harsh on GC, not factoring Luko has 6 years left at $1m a season.

Atkins contract is terrible as well.

Unsure if GC is paying a % of either of these.

When you've finished bottom 2 5 years straight, it's worth more than an 8-10 pick imo

You hae to take into account not just the unknown finishing position but the 12 months of extra player development. Any first round pick this season gives you the player here and now. A future pick has a 12 months lag. You only get the player for 2026 season. This absolutely reduces the value of the future pick

I'm pretty keen on splitting our pick 2 and F1 to get the exact type of players we need in this years draft.

Not sure how many spots we have available on our list if we get Parker and delist all 3 of Laz, Coops and Drury but i'd be happy with the following trades

North: F1
GWS: 15, 16, 21

North: Pick 2
Tigers: Picks 6 & 10

Gives us 6, 10, 15, 16, 21 and 25

All those picks are in the sweet spot for the types of players we need.

Would have done it for Houston.

Port can fro if they come knocking now.

What we could have, should have or would have done for Houston is irrelevant. The thought of playing for North never crossed his mind. The bloke saw us as the fourth of three options and used us to get what he wanted as others have done before. North should have walked away, but everyone seemed to know he had no time for us, except us. That we simpered around the fringe of the deal for so long, just hoping a miracle would happen was lame.

Both deals are on the favorable to us side of the ledger given the current climate.

But the crux of it is what I want to do if we are going to move those two picks.

If you want to go all in, you do it like the that and try and plug the final list gaps with 5 picks inside the top 25. Especially in this draft.

Something like Armstrong, Tauru, Trainor, Berry, Hannaford.

The above would transform the list and have us as the most dangerous young developing side in the league imo, especially if the likes of Duursma, Goater and Hardiman make big strides in 2025.

Do we even have an enclosure for him?
If you guys hear someone booing at Alberton when Ratkins has the ball, it’s me.
I'm done with this franchise
He better start learning the words to the Port Magpies song.
c'mon on down Roller Ratkins🤮
the creed is officially dead, my memberships won't be subsidizing his salary 🤦‍♂️

I hate this bloke
I still dont get the Ratkins inclusion in all this....this has Connors fingerprints all over it.
Welcome Rory Riley Ratface
He'll fit right in with our inner circle
Guess the jokes on us

Yep taking it well…as normal……

Can't blame them. To go from asking for pick 2 and more to ending up with a couple of packs of twisties and some change. What a fall from grace!

We are destined to be irrelevant and permanently shit. We are going to be a breeding ground for bigger clubs to come in and swoop up our best talent.

Just shut the ****ing doors and hoard the joint up.
I'll reserve opinion on this until the end of '25, but it's looking very, very likely.

If we lose players after next season, we are doomed.

We're stuck in a ****ing active volcano and we're laughing at the tourists above who've accidentally dropped their cameras and binoculars into it. Don't know how some of you campaigners find it in you to rejoice at others' shit trades at this point. Are you all numb to the pain or something?

Surely we’re all numb by now, right?

I'm sure the Dogs, Lions and Dees fans all felt the same way on their builds, but they all reached the top.
Not sure what else we could have done. We had a throw at the stumps for Houston. We must win more games with the group we have plus a few additions in Parker and Darling. Go again next year in Trade/FA, it's all we can do.

They are reserved for the bigger clubs only.

Not sure where the GWS trade lands in terms of points if we assume our F1 will be between 2 - 4.

Don't underestimate Richmond's hatred of Carlton. They'll love to get the two picks before them.
