We opened with Darling for a 4th rounder so given Parker is actually wanted at Sydney, they might try to shake us down. And we don't have history playing hardball with them.

Parker will be at North next year.

When Richmond receives the pick#6 from GC and 10 or 11 from Freo then we pounce with our Pick#2 for Pick#6 and #10 or #11...

Step 2
Approach Port and negotiate a trade for Houston and see where it takes us.

Step 3
Give Daniels a deadline on deciding what he wants to do.

Step 4
Let the Parker deal run its course. We will get him its just about when.

Step 5 See what the Swanies want to get for Kostansky.

Step 6
Finish the trades and move on .

I wonder if the Houston talk is Clarko playing 7D chess with LMac and our defensive group. We are actively looking to replace a half back flanker and the Goat has dibs on the other flank.

I just cannot see a circumstance where we’re straight trading a F1 for Houston. It would be a negligent use of draft capital based on Poorts demands.

If the Tiggers get 6 and one of either 10 or 11 do we see if they would part with 6 and either 10 or 11 for our Pick#2 with some other later picks being swapped in the deal?

We end up with 6 and 10 or 6 and 11 , Tiggers get pick #2 and keep either 10 or 11 and we offer Port either 10 or 11 and our F1 for Houston and another swap of later picks. l cant see either Carlton orCollingwood doing better than that and l think its a win win for both North and Tiggers..

North end up with Houston,6, 25, 44, and 62 (Parker)
Tiggers end up with 1,2,10 or 11, 24, 32, 42, 43, 45, and 51
Port end up with 10 or 11, Norths F1st.

Let the Houston ship sail. That deal would be terrible. Not quite Freo of the 90s terrible, but terrible none-the less.

If we were able to swap 2+ a 3rd for 6+11, we bite their hands off.

Id also be pretty annoyed at Houston if I were a port supporter, wanting out 1 year into a 4 year deal, and even if you keep him you know he doesn't want to be there anymore and that his heart isn't in it. "I'm willing to stay" yeah no shit, what else is he going to say? It's good PR.

Failed to re assure his camp we could get a deal done it seems. Missed the window now.

At this point, I would just rather keep Kerch back to gain experience and size while we develop a dashing HB.

That or take Draper and give him a 2 year apprenticeship across HB.

Stuff the trades if they are too difficult. Daniel may not suit our needs and Houston was always going to get caught up in a bidding circus with big clubs.

Stick to the course. The wins will come with continued investment in the draft and savvy poaching of quality value targets.
