I’d say a little of that had to do with his back half distributor role been taken by one of the best in the league at that role in Bailey Dale. After that it seemed like Bevo chucked Daniels around to different positions, on which none he played awesome in. Which led to a lack of confidence which we have seen happen to many.

Reminds me of one of the loves of my life, Peter Mann. A bloody good CHF, but given north had a fairly decent CHF at the time, had to ply his trade for us out of position. Moves to Freo, plays his natural position, has a number of good years.

I think the lack of a decent distributor back there makes a player like Daniel’s more valuable to us, than to the dogs and other teams.

Sorry, i thought i was replying to a different post. I edited my post, i meant that if Tucker was good then we wouldn't need Daniels. Tucker is a neat kick, but Daniels is a very good kick.

The problem with Daniels is he is a midget, saw a game earlier in the year and the dogs got slaughtered because the team they were playing were kicking it to whomever Daniels was near. It would be less of an issue for us because the opposition has a smorgasbord of options to kick to because McDonald, Fisher, etc aren't exactly elite defenders either.

Tucker is incomparable with ball use.... Tucker is a solid role player, these are the types we need to start pushing out

That is my point... Tucker is okay, but he isn't good. If he was good (by foot) we wouldn't need Daniels.

Ok , Time to get Parker....This is the first trade we need done...If Daniel gets done next thats fine and if it doesn't thats fine also. If we get a good deal for our F1st then we take it but we hold our Pick#2 until later...

We need maturity and experience more than we just need the never ending promise of more picks at this stage of our list build

Edit: replied to the wrong message - was in relation to your need more picks inside 50 post, sorry

Personally, I think Darling and Parker are enough especially when you have other experienced players in every line with Logue, Corr, McDonald, Simpkin, LDU ad Larkey.

We still need plenty more young talent coming through the door, especially small forwards and KP's.

i'm glad we didnt get houston because imo would have been overs and it opens up our future second and third rounders to get daniel and parker deals done if needed

I would have been ecstatic if we got Houston, I just didn't believe for a second we were a legitimate option. We would have had to have a Bradbury scenario happen.

Fisher played what half a season for blues as hb.... he was recruited as he plays multiple positions not the one.... could well be back fwd

back or forward? Make up your mind!!!!

Not getting Houston means that we didnt get a player who doesn't want to be here, so thats fine with me..Parker has stated that he wants to come here so thats where our goal lies...l'm still not sure about Daniel though.

They didn't "give" us pick 17. They allowed us to upgrade an already good pick by a few spots, in exchange for us giving them another good pick as well. You love this narrative that we somehow got Fisher for free

We also gave Fisher a contract well beyond his qualities to the point where we're now chasing someone else in his position. It was a poor trade
We ended up with Fisher and Wil Dawson (pick 22). Carlton ended up with picks 29 and 34. We also specifically picked Fisher because he could play multiple roles not just as a hbf.

So we got Fisher and Wil Dawson instead of picks 29 and 34.

It may not be the case, but there is something other than a lack of talent that is holding this group back.
One million percent.

We are in a spot were it is like as a collective we have been conditioned to lose. That the external point of view that North are a bottom tier team and that is all we ever can be now effects our mentality on field.

That we have a comradery off field but it is bathed in a level of delusion of it not mattering whether we win or not.

I would really like for us to get back to our roots of having f*** all and if we can't win we will make you hurt for it.

For too long we have played nice and it needs to stop, at every level administrative and football.

The problem with this is he can't play the defensive part of being in the back line and he can't fit into the forward line, he is also pretty slight and to top that all off he is barely a step above Stephens when is comes to how soft his centre is.

Who do you think instigated the Fisher and Stephens trades? Clarko would have pleaded his case for the type of player(s) he needs for his game plan. And Viney or Brady don’t have the smarts to overrule him.

Now we are doing the same shit all over again. Chasing hard and overpaying for someone else’s fringe player.

Rawlings doesn't nor would he have the power, but Viney does as boss of both.

Daniel is a fringe player in team who prob have one of the best lists in the afl, and should be doing much better with the list.... Bevo is an interesting character but Daniel would be in most other teams 22 easily

Tarpies are in full damage control mode today, so far i have heard Chris Davies, and Jason Cripps trying to appease their supporter's with their rehearsed spin, and the bullshit meter is off the charts.

Fisher was alright on the back line in the games I saw live. Except when he was stuck one out against an opposition KPF, which happened far too often. But I guess you can't put that on him because his job shouldn't be last line of defense against a KPF.

Did we try him in the forward line to know if he can't fit?
