Problem is there are so many academy players in next years draft. Our F2 could easily blow out even if/when we finish bottom four.
Doesn’t matter
academy players pushing our pick back doesn’t devalue it

We are still choosing from the same pool of players not including those academy kids

We probably had the option of Konstanty and Clarke and went for the former
Yeah, I rekn we should be going both though. Given we have such a shortage of small forwards, we need to take a couple punts in the hope one pays off. I like Konstanty but putting all our eggs in the Konstanty, Hansen, Payne bucket for 2025 would be a mistake given where the game has gone.

Based on Clarke’s talent, I agree.

Word on the WB board is that it’s probably off field issues tho.

Our 'young' KPFs are Larkey and if forward Comben. I reckon we are two short.

We’ve had this level of depth as far as young KPF’s go for what, six years? We all know we’d love more but you just know we’d be surprised at two and shouldn’t be surprised at none in this draft. As long as they consider Toby Pink and CCJ forwards waiting in the wings it’ll be low priority.

It’s no surprise we seem linked to Tauru but none of the KPF’s… we seem to love our swingmen.

Larkey (27 next year)
Pink (27 next year) - will delist end of next year
CCJ (26 next year off an achilies)- will delist end of next year
Teakle (26 next year) - will get alot of games and hopeful
Maley (22 next year) - has upside but unlikely

I guess it depends where we play Dawson next year as tried him forward.

Ideal draft for me personally is we end up with a mix of Tauru and a sliding Trainor

The issue is really in the upside/quality of the KPF group. Dawson has enourmous upside as a defender and gives me a lot of confidence that at least we have someone developing who could be the next “guy”.

We just don’t have that with the KPFs, hence why if we split (especially if we trade F1) we just have to use one of the picks on a KPF IMO. Shannahan, Armstrong, Whitlocks, Fault, I don’t care. If we split we just have to take one of these guys.

F1 for GWS 15 and 16?

Shanahan
Plus
Trainor or Whitlock

Sounds kinda crazy potentially pick 3 for 15 & 16. However, if the net result of an F1 trade is two key quality forwards, it’ll be interesting to track over the years.

You’d only consider doing that one the night if the ones you rate highest are still on the board, which is unlikely.

Next years top end for me looks better then this years. I like the depth of this year but not sure a good year to have a top pick. Much better to have a couple of picks. Next year i feel a return to normality. High top end and fall off. Our first rounder next year worth more then we seem to want to give it away for.

Do we know how Goater and George are tracking? I have had high hopes for Goater in particular but has been so crueled by injury
RF08 provided an update on goater a little while back:

Just about fully recovered now, will be progressing pre-Christmas, then into full training post-Christmas.

Has added a little bit of size, and has been doing a tonne of conditioning work (limited on ground running however).

Josh & the club are confident he'll come back better than ever.
