Bit of a throwback and a random question … but does anyone here remember why Liam Anthony never made it?

He was top fella and excellent trainer. Had no worries finding the footy but his disposal was pretty average.

He got his shoulder smashed in a contest that ended up having to be operated on. He had some post surgery complications and seemingly struggled to get the confidence back in his body to attack the contest.

KPD stock
Corr (31 next year)
Logue (27 next year)
K Dawson ( 27 next year)
Chom (24 next year)
W Dawson (19 in december)

KPF Stock
Darling (33 next year)
Larkey (27 next year)
Pink (27 next year) - will delist end of next year
CCJ (26 next year off an achilies)- will delist end of next year
Teakle (26 next year) - will get alot of games and hopeful
Maley (22 next year) - has upside but unlikely

I guess it depends where we play Dawson next year as tried him forward.

Ideal draft for me personally is we end up with a mix of Tauru and a sliding Trainor
For a team who has finished bottom 2 for 5 years, the list build is pathetic. Wiping out our picks this year just compounds it. No where near enough talent or depth for sustainable success.

If we cant get a decent deal for pick 2 i would be happy enough taking it to the draft.
Get one of fos, jagar etc
Take river
Upgrade a rookie.
It wouldnt be the end of the world we have a lot of kids already.
Give our development coaches time to put into the 20 kids we have on the list without throwing 3 or 4 more on top.

Do tigers really need to take 2 mids at the top end - think it’s best to take KPPs at the start of rebuilds as they take longer than mids.
Well, yes & no. But I think its important to get those elite star midfielders when you can in the draft and if you've got the picks get a key forward and trade for another one in the trade/free agency period. The reason why, is you can't bank on getting star midfielders on the open market and on the off chance you get one he's going to cost you an arm and a leg and lots of hair, yes it happens but the correct way is get those guns in the draft, make them your own, they are your engine room, they are your match winners.

By saying this I'll probably cop more flak than "the guns of Navarone", but its okay everyone has an opinion and right or wrong its good to see the other point of view. "Do the tigers really need to take 2 mids at the top end"? Yes. different list managers & recruiters will have varying degree's of a preference for their midfield and how to go about it, of course in the draft it helps if you've got lots of picks, but the elite talent is the key, if you can snare it.

My thought process would be the number "three", most teams usually aren't down the bottom for that long that they can get most positions filled and then you have to think about academy picks then father/sons and on top of that Tassie is coming, so you only possible have one or two more drafts before it gets diluted so much its not funny. Getting back to that number 3 its an interesting number isn't it?

More than any other number, 3 outshines them all when all is said and done. For starters, according to Pythagoras, is the only number to equal the sum of all the terms below it and the only number whose sum with those below equals the product of them and itself. In nature, we have the Earth the sun and the moon. We think of time itself unfolding as past , present and future and our full cycle of experience as birth ,life and death. Don't you think its funny that in folklore, if you find a special lamp, rub it, a genie appears and just guess how many wishes he grants you, you guessed it, "3".

Anyway enough of that, the main point is if you can get 3 elite midfielders, then you can focus on other area's of the ground, now whether that's the draft and trade/ free agency that decision is up to the list manager, recruiter and coach.
