God this pisses me off.

Another loophole in the system getting exploited.

Condon was nailed on as a top 10 pick in Sheez’s draft 18 months out, goes to college for a couple of years in full knowledge he can essentially walk into the AFL system as a free agent in 2 seasons. It wasn’t even masked, was openly discussed as what he was doing (When he’s a ruckman anyway and would have barely played anyway…) Why wouldn’t you sit it out? Small price to pay for essentially cherry picking your career path and it won’t be the last time this happens

He absolutely should have to go into the draft pool, this is not what Cat B rookies were designed for.

He’d probably get picked in the first 20 picks in a months time, even sitting out 2 years.

The rule should be, If you played in any of the national carnivals in u16’s up, you should have to enter the draft if under 25 years of age moving back to the sport.

This completely offsets Collingwood burning all their picks. Again (after the Daicos FS) and they get McGuane next season as a FS. And will be targeting LDU with nothing to trade with if we match.

Clearly absolutely calculated by Collingwood.

We should sponsor full US scholarships for the best 200cm+ players, then have them join nmfc as Cat B rookies. Good 50k per-year investment.

Yep
We need to be getting these high ceiling free hits as cat b rookies

But brady seems aloof and not innovative in this space
Yeah but we haven't had a great development program in place so it's probably for the best we haven't wasted time in that space.

Hopefully we start to look more into that space now that we seem to be getting a more stable coaching team in place.

I see see see didn't see the opportunity (nor did blackshadow)
This fred moves too fast for me to keep up! I only check in occasionally now that the trade eon has finished and what will be will be as far as pick trades and the draft.

Have been reading all the trade scenarios on this thread and it would be nice to add 4 more first round players in if we traded in/up our F1 and #2 picks, but unless we get great value for our picks (unlikely) I don't think this will happen.
Most likely (IMO) would be to just trade pick 2 for 6 and 11/18 and pick 2 of Tauru, Armstrong, Trainor, Whitlock or Gerryn and Stevens.
We delist 2 of our 3 unsigned players keeping Coops or Laz.
With Stevens added to our list we will have 4 small forwards on our list, who will compete with each other for a spot (or 2) in our team.
Not sure how George is going, but we could consider putting him on the LTI and having a few VFL players training with us and putting one of those on our list later on.
A Cat B would also be nice, but with our history I can't see that happening.
Anyway, just my 2 cents worth
Go Roos!

The Brady has NFI narrative is just a coping mechanism for emotionally stunted middle aged men.

That Sydney are still paying Parker as he plays for us is just magic.
On the flipside, it seems we are paying all of Darling's wage ...

I ain't seen the paperwork, but according to someone very senior at WC we are....which surprised me. But then I'm an ESMAM so that's not unusual!

They might be doing some arse covering I reckon.

Typical Brady incompetence. We're desperately trying to reach the salary cap floor and he's bringing in players whose previous clubs are paying part of their salary. How does he still have a job?
Won't somebody think of the war chest!

So still no delisting's? I mean, I know it's still another week, but think they'd give players far warning to start talking to other clubs.

Drury and Laz ,l think, are still away on holidays but l'm not sure about Cooper. l would think that North will be waiting for them to return before making any decicions on who stays and who goes..

They may also be working through pick swap trades and don’t yet know how many picks we’ll take to the draft, so don’t yet know how many list spots to vacate.
