Once upon a time I was all up to split 2, the closer we get to the draft the more im shifting against it.

Lalor, Jagga and FOS are just that tier ahead of the rest for mine and just too good to pass up on. (Like Draper but still SA shy after judas)

So now thinking, take 1 of the 3, all would be a win for us, don't care which.

Try to burn F1 for Tauru or Trainer.
If not
Get in asap with our F2, a Whitlock, a Gerryn or a Simms will be fine for tall projects.

I'd prefer to use the 2 on quality and risk a little less on the project.

Lalor
Simms
Stevens

Im good with that and keeping our F1. Might even be a hidden gem slider tall for our R1.

I've run all opposition posts through an analyser, a collective mind dump if you will.

Here are the results.

North Melbourne
OUT: #2, F1, F2
IN: Gary Rohan, #30

Richmond
OUT: #30 (held by Fremantle)
IN: #2, North Melbourne F1 & F2

St Kilda
OUT: St Kilda F1
IN: St Kilda F1*

*Denotes "just came along for the ride" trade
Marginally better than the CCJ deal,

Surely there would have to be a sweetener in there for the tiggers to protect the Jack Graham compo?? just like when we bent over for them so they didn't lose the Chom compo.

We really are getting good at this trading business, dodos streak is in danger,

I keep reading comments like this, and they read like attempts to justify or cope with the corner we have painted overselves into.

The top mids this year aren't amazing and we don't need more top mids anyway. As everyone keeps saying, this draft doesn't have a great top end but runs deep. It is the perfect draft for us to address the obvious holes in our list. We need tall and small forwards, and players that can run all day.

We started with picks 2, 24, 44, and all our future picks. Whilst our F1 should be off limits, shuffling the rest into three good picks whilst trading in a couple of players who weren't in their club's long-term plans should have been a doddle. Yet somehow we look further away from achieving that than where we started.

I love the passion, but we still have Dildo on a wing! Twig Scott (albeit pretty good) on another. To even suggest our midfield is complete madness!

We have so much more to do.

Our midfield isn't complete but we don't need more top liners, we need the support cast. Rowbottom and Dunkley rather than Heeney and Neale.

2023 was the first time Humphries nominated for the AFL draft because he was focusing on his anthropology studies. I saw this in an interview with him during the season

Ah, ok. I was going off this:

"There are also several clear reasons why Humphries is having such an unlikely impact.

The Pilbara native learned his footy at Wickham, a mining town more than 1500km, or 16 hours' drive, north of Perth - so a regional community like Geelong suits him well.

He also went to boarding school at Hale in Perth, so moving across to the other side of Australia for his career was not too big a stretch.

Last year was the third time Humphries had nominated for the draft, so he'd been made well-aware there were areas of his game that needed work."
