Game Day 2024 Trade Period - Lian Yu - that liminal space between trade and draft.

Wow the West Coast board is an absolute dumpster fire.

Amongst all the rage, this post was pretty reasonable;
"If this was our approach a competent list manager probably would of been able to get Shai Bolton and Baker for 3.... instead we got Matt ****ing Owies."

I also learned you can spell the f bomb like this... fu(k

If we don’t trade 11 to Norf, I actually do not mind 10 and 11 and 30 for Bolton and 14.
Take 14 and 18 to the draft instead of 11 and 30.

Richmond can send 30 to GC
Yeah I'm with you, Berry probably still there at 14 and then more quality at 18

Genuinely don't understand what WCE are doing.

I mean if you're going to bring in players like Baker/Owies to try to bounce back up why are you trading away key players like Barrass or even Jek Derling.

If you're going to load up for Chad next year the Barrass thing is just weird, he's probably one of their most important players.

A huge thankyou to the West Coast Happiness Division for bringing so much joy to Fremantle supporters everywhere. We're all wandering around work here with massive shit-eating grins, just laughing out loud when we see each other.

Your work in the big shoes and honky horn department has brought us closer together.

Pick 3 for Matt Owies will never be forgotten and we are forever indebted.

Don Pyke just said on radio that our offer for Baker and Shai helped show how valued Baker is.

Well I think it's clear they are trying to have a bit each way. Try and not be so bad in the short term, whilst building through the draft and trades rather than a pure draft rebuild. It's a risky strategy for a non-Vic club in my view (since there is no way to bring quality local players back without paying full price, which dilutes your drafting).

Even if some of the people with their hands directly on the tiller down there might be off the bathwater now; there are apparently many influential people indirectly involved who are not.

Again, great isn't it?

Dragging posts from other boards back to your safe space to laugh about is chicken shit and goes against the right of reply nature of BigFooty

Have a go there or don’t do it IMO

I don't know, man. I hear that but I wouldn't have seen that comedy gold otherwise and it is Meth Coast we are talking about.

They are having a real moment and it needs to be savoured.

They are definitely looking for a short term fix which is dumb with Tassie around the corner…but they’ll get a decent draft haul when Harley leaves.
The thing is they will get F1’s with Harley so the closer it pushes to Tassie, the harder it will be to rebuild

So Silvagni at St Kilda wants to trade for Brodie Kemp that he drafted when he was at Carlton back in 2019.

Silvagni has done this before. Drafted kids at one club who don't really set the world on fire. Only to recruit them to a new club where they once again do not set the world on fire.

Surprised he hasn't made a play for Matt Kennedy.

30 might help them get Rioli, but giving back 14 makes it a slightly worse deal for Richmond than 10+18 and they won't accept it.

If we want 14 back, we are going to have to give them 10+11+18. Maybe there's some later pick swaps.
