which given how much cash they'll have freed up with front loading who else they have left, if they get some greenshoots from their crop this year over 25 and 26, I wonder if they become a serious contender for Harley at the end of his deal
Weren't there rumours of him telling WC he wants to be playing finals otherwise he's out? Idk if true or not. Could be using that excuse as a scape goat. You are right though, Richmond could offer him $2m a year.

Pretty excited to get Bolton, it's a high trade price and comes with plenty of risk but if we can keep him motivated and get him to gel with our team on the field we should get a good return.
I would have liked a R2 or F2 back instead of the F3, but the trade doesn't look too bad.

As another small bonus it'll be nice to have some more serious indigenous talent in the side too.

As a side note there's a lot of people talking about negotiating like it's Facebook Marketplace.
While anchoring is one strategy, these are professionals that should be far more experienced and trained in how to negotiate a deal.
I expect relationships and reputations are also very important for the sustainability of the club, I mean Don Pyke used that as part of his justification.

We also get maybe 20-30% of the info publicly - we don't know what draft targets either team has, what the contract looks like, Richmond's genuine willingness to keep him (regardless of our speculation), etc.

So what was West coasts offer? Future first and #12?
I recon it would have been 12 + Barrass compensation which would be close to our deal anyway.

They are probably upset we made them pay so much for Baker so try tried to get us back.

Imagine trading your whole draft hand away to top up from 3rd bottom with their list.

Your points are well made, although this guy is not one you want looking after relationships, reputations and player welfare.

Where's my Travis Colyer for 2024? Come on, I am desperate, I need there to be something else.
