Game Day 2024 Trade Period - Lian Yu - that liminal space between trade and draft.

I don’t know - I watched that Port game where our season was on the line and saw JHF jog it out of the guts with little or no resistance from our mids, Fyfe being the key contributor to that lack of defensive pressure. Sorry to say it, but Fyfe also let us down on the inside. When I look at Allan’s defensive presence as an 18 year old as well as a clear inside-to-outside transition game I think maybe he would have a spot.

Naturally that assumes the Coach / match committee decides to prioritise winning over historical performance.
Sounds like the job description you'd hand Erasmus.

Is there room for Allan and Erasmus in the 23?

Why though? He has no spot in the team. It would be similar to a gun key defender or KPF being available.

We need to plug holes, not get best available for once.
I’m a fan of Allan for the simple fact he’s played against men all year
And yes that’s a big thing he’s not a big kid playing against short people. He has a capacity to listen and learn but also to lead. I’ve watched his games at peel. And in my opinion his level is above erasamus and Jonhson. He showed during the finals for peel ,he’s clean and quick with his thoughts. That’s a natural thing and extremely hard to teach
He’s a natural footballer the other 2 aren’t

That’s the whole point. Ras had 11 tackles vs 6 in the GF. Obviously a few years more in the system but sure, let’s go another mid to be a slight upgrade if it all works out in three years while our forward line smalls waste away to be the worst in the league.

Our best available WA kid obsession around here needs some clarity. I know it’s hard since for 30 years it was the right decision but we’re finally at the point of finishing off the list and some punters still can’t see it.

It doesn't matter if Dumbo Damo thinks it's fair. Or any else for that matter. If, as is almost universally believed, we've already put 10 and 18 on the table as our opening offer you can forget 10 and 30.
That's why i still believe, as I said on day 1, it most likely will be 10 and 11 with something in the 20s coming back. Once 10 and 18 was on the table as the opening bid, it was only going in one direction from there

Given the complete lack of leakage, maybe our initial offer was 10 & 18 with 23 coming back and Richmond don’t want to give anything back.

We’re all guessing anyway, will know shortly.

Twice as good is unfair to Sonny, fair enough .

But Shai is in a different class, I think Ryan Daniels below explains it best

You are gunna love him, and I'm gunna miss him:'(

Hmm not sure about different class when if you extend the criteria out to 6 years then in 2019 one Michael Walters also had 400+ disposals and 40+ goals!

It would be disgusting if we give up 10 and 11 for Shai Bolton in a superdraft.
If 25 year old Nat Fyfe had requested a trade we would not have received that in return from any Vic club. It’s ridiculous overs and completely unnecessary to pay.

Richmond standing firm for [emoji[emoji6][emoji6]] & as of this morning.

You know what. I think it’s worth it. I know it’s controversial.

We lost like [emoji6] games this year by a goal or something stupid. Bolton gives us that goal and another at least per game I reckon

Agreed. Who ever put the first offer of 10 + 18 down is an idiot. They’ll expect us to go higher from there.

Super impressed with how Collingwood was able to switch the script with Port about Houston.

It seems the more you offer early, the more you need to pay.
Hawks have done the same thing with the eagles. I wish we had the balls to do the same with Richmond, knowing it is in their best interests to trade him out.

Genuine question. Who is going to be more disappointed if Bolton doesn't happen. Fremantle supporters or Richmond supporters?

Whoever thinks 10 and 18 is overs to pay for Bolton genuinely has no idea what they are talking about
Don't understand this at all.

Houston is only worth pick 13, but we should pay 10 and 18 for Bolton.

Only Fremantle and Gold Coast would pay 10 and 18 for him. It is silly chasing contracted players, and then offering lots at the start

Houston is worth more than 13. You don’t see a deal getting done for him cause he’s worth more than that. Bolton is genuinely a star and has top 10-20 player in the comp upside and he’s only 25. Do you remember what Neale did when he left at the same age? Different players obviously but Bolton is only just getting into to his prime

Another similar question, is which team will hurt more over the next 10 years if the trade does not occur?

I really think the trade of 10 and 18 for Bolton, will hurt Richmond more than us, if it doesn't go occur.

Why is JHF Fyfe's responsibility? If we have a lack of defensive pressure why is it always Fyfe's fault?

Richmond, I personally would be happy to take 10,11&18 to the draft, walk away with Berry(10) Lindsay(11) and Hannaford(18) add some class, xfactor and pressure in one draft, Cue in the rack for the next 4 drafts, concentrate on Chad next year.
