We’re looking for a younger replacement for Campbell. Ideally we want Marshall to spend more time forward but finding a replacement ruck is easier said than done. Asking the question of Nick Bryan (again).
You’d think if we landed a ready made number 1 ruck and Marshall played forward Membrey would be on the way out.
Can’t fit King, Marshall, Membrey, Sharman and Owens in one fwd line.
Similarly, Caminitti would have to roll back as Ross has alluded in the past is their preference

Petracca sounds like a real wank after all this. Could understand if it was just the injury, but talking about "brand petracca" etc is prety disgusting lol

You're one of the best players in the game. Your profile isn't going to get much bigger and your legacy as a one club player is better than switching now imo.

Heard that his girlfriend has taken the commercial side of his contract away from his management, might explain a bit.

Just HOF terrible couple of days for Trac

I'm not sure that's ideal at all.
Marshall does some terrific work following the ball.

Keep an eye out for Jacob Konstanty From Sydney to the Saints. Can't break into the Sydney side and desperatley wants to play. Bit of a bolter in his draft year taken by former Sydney recruiter Simon Dalrymple.

Defensive Forward 177cm
Draft#20,2022 National Draft
Recruited FromDrouin (Vic)/Gippsland U18

Finished the NAB League season ranked second for tackles (81), while impressing with his relentless work-rate and tackle pressure inside 50.

I just had a look at his VFL stats he is hardly setting the world on fire averaging 1 goal a game, 11 disposals & 4 tackles, he would want to come cheaply.

Yep that’s the idea, those stats aren’t terrible for a player coming off injury in what is essentially his first year.

Dan Butler’s stats this year for reference mind you thats at AFL level and he also hasn’t set the world on fire, he’s also 28..

Schache delisted. Just proves even with modern recruiting and intelligence, even a pick 2 is never guaranteed success.

Use our picks wisely, Saints.
Can't believe he's lasted this long on a list. Very clear early on in his career that he simply wasn't up to it. Coasted on his "Pick 2" status for years, not because of him so much, but due to other clubs delusions and being blinded by their own headlights.
He might go okay in the country leagues.

Feel free to go back to my immediately previous post to the one you quoted.

My main gripe is we aren't getting mentioned as a suitor. We must fight the small club mentality on all fronts.

Reading Petracca's comments on the Howie Games Podcast, I think he's miles away from playing again. I just want the respect of being mentioned as a possible destination.
What are our caterers like down there? Maybe we can get him in on a chef scholarship.
I think that's the only way we're ever going to get mentioned.

Hunter clark has, in almost every respect, become luke dunstan mk2.

No tank, speed or spread- can only play ~50-60% time on ground.
But maddenly gets the pill ~20 times in half a game.

Not worth trading at this point- but FMD, can't we send him to the himalayas or something for 6 months to magically improve his aerobic capacity??!!
hunter is much better than dunstan and will be better again next year. Hunter turns half chances into good plays, doesn't have dunstan's unfounded ego either

Caminiti could play back line if Battle goes.

A wannabe "Brand Judd"

Very different players, Dunstan could dive into a pack and come out with the ball, what happened next was an issue.

It has to be remembered Dunstan was known for being slow and a shocking kick which made him a liability , Clark may be slow but his ball use is far superior to what Dunstan's ever was.
Dunstan had the clearance ability but his problem was it made no impact due to his poor disposal , Clark seems to have far more impact when he has the ball in hand.

Clark maybe no super star but he is a handy player and will follow team instructions which by all accounts Dunstan would only do when he felt like it.

Also teams have been sniffing around Clark when coming off contract , where Dunstan was a RFA and hardly any teams wanted him - he ended up at Melbourne mainly due to Richardson and ended up playing 2s mainly , strange how Billings ended up there as well.

He is a type of personality you don't want at the club.

*hypothetical

IF battle signed on,
Would people trade out next years future first for a pick in the top 10 this year to snag two midfielders and a faster year of development ?
If Battle goes fine we get another pick , if not stick with what we have - you never know what becomes available the following year.

In a heartbeat. Then next year do the same, so we go without a first rounder the year of Tassies first draft......

Lot of Hunter Clark love. Always injured, hasn’t put on a shred of muscle and still can’t run out a game properly (56 percent game time on the weekend!).

Like him as a player but think he’s been very underwhelming and can’t fathom why he’s been on our list since 2018 and is still unfit. Injuries sure but I can’t remember looking at him and thinking he looks fit.

Hopefully he has a well overdue big off season.
