Our picks are all worth less anyway due to the academy picks.

If there's someone we really want, we trade back in with future picks from 2026 and 2027 or a player trade
I think with the changes to the DVI, Academy clubs are going to start having to prioritise players, with some of those aligned with them going to other clubs, even as high as the first round.

This is one thing many on here have ignored. With the new point values it is unlikely that the first round will be littered with academy players because the northern teams aren't going to be able to accumulate the points required to obtain multiple firsts. They'll be paying far closer to their true value.

Yep, wait for people hating for pick 10 blood next. We’ll eventually have 5 in a row and people will want to split all 5 and we’ll have 10 in a row from 14
By Wednesday night we will have all 20 first round picks, we will then bid on Ashcroft 1st, then Kako, then Marshall. If we miss all three we will take the first 20 picks available according to Cal Twomey's phantom draft just to make him look good.

Unless they trade a player can’t see how this is possible.
Surely their 2 first rounders + 2 second rounders (this year & next year) isn’t enough?
Many recruiters consider O’Sullivan the draft’s top prospect as a brilliantly well-rounded inside-outside ballwinner who is penetrating by foot.
The Blues’ strong interest in landing pick three from West Coast and securing a stand-out midfielder explains why they aren’t going overboard for Port Adelaide’s Dan Houston.
Carlton’s recruiting team will continue to talk about their options with 12 and 14 and whether they can engage West Coast, Melbourne or St Kilda on a pick swap for an earlier selection.
The Blues have confirmed to other clubs they are happy to hold their two draft aces or rise earlier up the order to have a crack at another generational talent.
West Coast would prefer to hold on to three but Carlton will pitch 12 and 14 as a way West Coast can land Liam Baker from Richmond with 12 and a young talent with 14.

If we could land 9 (F1 +27)

Would they accept 8 for 12 & 14 (maybe 47 as well)

Leave us with 7+9+12+14

Why stop there!

Then 9 for 15 & 16

14, 15, 16 for pick 3.

Leaves us with 3, 7, 12.

Lalor, Smillie and whoever is left from Reid, Lindsay, Hotton, Armstrong, Tauru (etc etc etc).

We can all wake up now!

WCE trading back from pick 3, to secure Baker would be a seriously dumb

And Reid at 1, Lindsay at 2, Trainor at 3.

A raffle will be held after that with a $2 entry fee and 3 tix for $5 for the meat tray.

Love it. Carlton thinks it’s getting pick 3 for 12 and 14, Collingwood thinks it’s getting 13 and 23 back off GC, Richmond all 80 picks. ****ing big clubs.

Yeah good point. And for those they can afford / fit, it also means those second rounders etc become more value for that reason. They will still move back, but moving back to 3rd rounders will be a bit more useless.
