Is this confirmed? Not used to them training on a Sunday 😂
Not officially... But my common sense tells me its the case.

Last main session was last monday.
Wed half the seniors didnt play or train
Yesterday - friday, was a light session where those that did play trained for half a session.

So if they dont have a main session tomorrow, and then go into a captains run on monday.... is not wise.

They should treat this coming game as a proper game, which means main session 2 days before the game, and given we play tuesday, training tomorrow makes sense.

So alas, my common sense.

On the money, Jen 👍 thanks!

Training: Sunday Feb 25th.

Full squad on deck. Except McStay and Howe
Even Eyre was walking around for the first time since his surgery. You can see the tape on his upper thigh. I imagine he prob has a check up with the surgeon fairly soon so he can progress to the next step.

Howe was upstairs in the coaches boxes overlooking training. Not sure what's up with him. He didn't play in the north match sim, but hew as there on friday.

Parker and Murphy did their separate thing away from the group. Conditioning for Parker, and for Murphy -- well, we know situation. He did tell me he was feeling good post session -- even though they were flogging him with the running. "But thats what I get paid for"
This is now 4 weeks since the last time he was involved in contract and match play.

Parker probably did about 6-10km today I would think. He was continued to do running sessions long after; about 30 mins after the boys went inside and it was him and Murphy

There was some match sim for about 15 mins.

Match sim teams:

White forwards:
Reef
Steene
Kreuger
Sullivan
Richards
Bytel

Black defenders:
Frampton
Moore
Maynard
IQ
Markov
Crisp

White mids:
Carmy (wing)
Allan
Fin
HH (wing)
Long
Cox

Black mids:
Sidey (wing)
Nick
Josh D (wing)
Mitchell
Jordy
DC

White defenders:
Noble
TJ
Ryan
Dean
WHE
Begg

Black forwards:
Lippa
Schultz
Beau
Elliott
Johnson
Checkers

* Hill was here but he went off for some complaint. Hand? not sure, but he came back on.

Pendles in white rotating from the bench.

  • Nick and Josh swapped between mid and wing.
  • Same goes for HH and Richards
  • Persisting with Carmy on the wing.

Fin was the best mid for the white team. Just bursts through the centre bounce, and demands the ball in chains when around the ground.

* Begg was in defence with Oscar up forward with DC and Cox at CB

Lippa was tackling ferociously in one of the pressure drills. They got all around him. This is the intent we like to see.

Jordy and Nick were brilliant for the black team out of the middle. Nick then moved forward and kicked a goal from the boundary. He certainly knows where the goals are.

I'm guessing Harry has had surgery on his finger. He's not at training? Running?

I think Wade mentioned in the injury report 10 extra days before he can start running, so next few days I reckon

About time Jen2310 that you cornered Murphy and grilled him about his playing future. Tell him you are doing a live video with thousands of fans hanging off his every word, with the future course of some fan's lives resting on the words about to emerge from his mouth. No pressure, just tell it like it is.

'Are you going to play this year, or do you not to want to let the fans down immediately, so are making a pretence of going through the motions of training, with an announcement of retirement due the night before the first team selections? Has Kappa got to you and caused you to rethink your playing future?'

He will respect your candour and reply honestly - we hope. I can't imagine a team without him. It's bad enough losing McStay from attack without losing Murphy as well.

I did speak to him post session, got him to sign my jumper. I didn't want to pester him with questions, so just asked how he was feeling lol Raising the "are you ever gonna play again?" question is a touchy subject lol

Easy Jen. 6 words, inflected at sentence end to form a question. Watch his face while he responds for any signs of deception or self doubt. Tell him the 10000 or so fans watching the live video thank him for his candour, though hopefully not yet, for his time at the club. Smile sweetly, wish him well for the next stage of his career or whatever and back away. Exit stage left. Mission accomplished.
