Trump's tax cut was trickle down econ. The wealthy got a permanent cut, while working stiffs got two years. How much did they get back? Would they be able to start a business with that?
If they were more serious about actually growing the economy, and especially the middle class, they would not have allowed the already wealthy to hoover up more. Economies grow from the bottom up. People go out to local retailers and shops and spend their wages locally. Those businesses grow and hire more. The money circulates around the community and most get a taste. The money eventually does get to the top, but nourishes more levels along the way. This is the point of economic stimulus cheques.
The system today is that the megastores soak up all that cash. The money doesn't circulate locally and the wealth concentrates at top even more quickly than before. This unbridled capitalism is killing off the middle class. Those industries that helped build it post-war have moved offshore to make more profits. It's happened here where I live where the economy has become very M shaped.
Capitalism needs reasonable curbs. Try living in a country whose ruling/owning class treated it as a temporary base only good for total exploitation. The air and water are toxic. Workers are paid shit and the amount is nearly frozen at amounts from decades ago. There are very few homes with nice yards and gardens. Trump's crew wanted to deregulate everything, including toxins in rivers, child labor, work place safety, and fraud deterrence. Turning national treasures that contribute the quality of life into private money makers is a shit ideology. Sustainability better aids in the growth of the middle class and the American dream. Trump's need to brag gave up their game. He told the world he was making his class richer.
That ideology of profit above all does not work. That is the problem I have.
That said, I don't know how the modern online businesses fit into it.

IIRC The FBI didn't have a similar PC about the Trump investigation. Even to just announce that hadn't found anything, let alone that there was one. I think the reasoning at the time was that they were afraid that Trump, Fox, etal. would start a media shit storm and derail the election to some extent. That was what it was all about then, Trump being extremely loud and obnoxious, which wasn't normal for a campaign.
