Surely you have something better to do. If your boss is paying you, get back to work. Otherwise water the garden, take the dog for a walk or go fishing. You are not good at this.
Holy ****ing shit, dude!

You're ruining the business model!

I don't get what you mean here Snikz, please break it down for me m8.

This is like suggesting Chief is censoring this post because he doesn't sticky it
The article had a bunch of other examples and there are other sources with more detail. The point is that it's not common for corporate leaders to come out and admit they did the wrong thing unforced. And there's a discussion to be had about different giants of industry chopping and changing which side of politics they bend the knee to, but I keep forgetting that this board is too toxic and lacking in nuance to have such a discussion. Which is a shame, because it's some real Game of Thrones shit out there m8!
Harris is really missing out by not cashing in on her campaign.

US democracy is collapsing.
What do Trump and Harris each represent?
Harris:
  • escalation of war, in the Middle East and in Ukraine.
  • $20 billion in additional funding to reinforce the border, keep out asylum seekers and thereby foment racism and xenophobia.
  • "Opportunity economy" - ie. opportunity for Wall Street billionaires to amass even more profits
  • Spending cuts - she is lying when she claims that her administration would make token additional spending for social services. If she is elected she will renege on any such promises immediately. The US cannot afford the costs of constant nuclear rearmament and supplying weaponry to Zelensky and Netahayu, while at the same time spending on the needs of the working people. We all know what will be sacrificed.
  • Wage suppression/real wage cuts. The Biden administration, in collaboration with the AFL-CIO union bureaucracy, have been imposing real wage cuts across his entire term, the most recent example being the intervention of the government to illegalise the railway workers strike, and impose on them a contract which leaves wages below inflation and conditions of exploitation at the same horrific levels.
Trump:
  • immediate deportation of 20 million immigrants. Such measures would require the installation of a military dictatorship.
  • Fomenting of extreme xenophobia against all immigrants, in the same manner as Hitler.
  • Massive social spending cuts to syphon more wealth to the corporate billionaires
  • Mobilisation of paramilitary fascists to suppress any protests by workers against low wages and exploitation.
  • Immediate preparations for war against China, which Trump and his backers regard as the existential threat to the interests of corporate America.
This is the choice that American voters face
If Trump wins, an immediate move to instal a dictatorship.
If Harris wins, expect Trump to challenge through another coup attempt, more dangerous than the first, because he has already had the experience and presumably drawn some lessons.
Even if Trump fails in a second coup attempt, a Harris administration will, by the logic of its policies, head towards expanding war (along with the threat of a nuclear armageddon) and increasingly dictatorial methods to deal with opposition.

It's one of those nebulous comments, it'll all be based on the vibe.
Actually yes, I think it is. Who remembers Nixon's or JFK's statements? They do remember JFK looking good and Nixon sweating like a pig. They remember Reagan's "There you go again."
The winner will have to enunciate enough policy nous without boring anyone. Stand up to any bullying without acting like one him/herself. Show some fight and/or humor with the zingers.
I imagine something like Trump putting out a clear falsehood or hyperbole like "My economy was the best ever." Harris without bogging down in minutiae can give a quick economics 101 based retort that would be understood by regular people. Maybe preface it with something light like Reagan had before. If Trump doesn't stop or interrupts, have a pointed fact-based question ready to throw at him and not let him drown her out. Again something understandable by most of the viewers.
We know she can interrogate, she could challenge him about his statements on medicare, and trap him in an outrageous lie. I think the country would respond well to some straight-forward, but not strident or long-winded strength that aimed at shutting him up.

Yep. America is stuffed.

They had a great idea in 1776, but they didn’t really think it through.

Do you know what a dictatorship is?

This post couldn’t be anymore dramatic

I see that Rachel Maddow will present a Town Hall meeting with Harris. Can't believe that a cable host is doing this.

Oh wait, I read it wrong:

FOX News Channel’s (FNC) Hannity will present a town hall with Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump at the New Holland Arena in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on September 4th from 9-10 PM/ET. Please click here to request tickets or here to apply for media credentials.

Moderated by FNC’s Sean Hannity, the pre-taped one-hour town hall will focus on the top issues impacting the country, how he is preparing for his upcoming debate with Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris and ambitions for the nation, among other topics.

Should very informative, riveting and unbiased. Def. a must watch.

Hopefully she can bring that prosecutor energy we've seen at senate hearings, IMO that's when she's come across her best.

It's a pity we won't get to see Buttigieg debating either Trump or Vance, but Waltz debating Vance would be quite entertaining still.

Unless you live in very different timezones aren't you doing the exact same thing as them. Why don't you have something better to do than tell people they should find something better to do.?
