Do we have enough to move up to 8? Would 14 + F1 get it done?
Bigger picture I'd struggle to see how we'd give up 10 and 11 to then trade 14 back up to 8 for a F1.Do we have enough to move up to 8? Would 14 + F1 get it done?
Cal mentioned on Gettable Wednesday that we are trying to bundle 14 + 30 to move up. So is St Kilda happy to slide back 6 spots to add pick 30? Potentially if they want a player that will be there later. Also the option of future pick swaps to add inDo we have enough to move up to 8? Would 14 + F1 get it done?
We would offer F2. Doubt that gets any interest from St Kilda. The other option would be 8, F2 > 14, F1 or 8 > 14/30.Do we have enough to move up to 8? Would 14 + F1 get it done?
I doubt we know how much we fought or didn't. Clearly getting Bolton was the number one priority and then take it from there. Seems the latter is where we are at now.I just can’t , for the life of me , understand how , after giving up 10/11 (without too much fight let’s be real here)to slide back to 14 … to only then , seek to trade BACK up , during the actual draft itself no less ,when you can be assured theres always at least a 20% surcharge (probably 30+ % in this draft) … and finally all for Bo Allan, who’s a player /even on projection in areas we already have great developing depth??
Other than wallsy perhaps trying to play 4d chess (fair chance tbh)in the hope the “chatter” panics a team into picking another player (not just Allan) that in turn see the player we really want possibly sliding ??
Outside of that ,can someone make sense of it all for me?
While I agree for the most part, only thing I'll disagree with is that moving up in this draft actually seems cheaper than normal. Buying in with a future - expensive as ****, moving up within the draft - cheaper than normalI just can’t , for the life of me , understand how , after giving up 10/11 (without too much fight let’s be real here)to slide back to 14 … to only then , seek to trade BACK up , during the actual draft itself no less ,when you can be assured theres always at least a 20% surcharge (probably 30+ % in this draft) … and finally all for Bo Allan, who’s a player /even on projection in areas we already have great developing depth??

If it helps, some rumours going that we REALLY like Lindsay and he honestly does seem very much like a Walls type. I reckon that's who we'd take if we moved upI’d consider trading up to secure Lindsay - he’s still my #1 for us, nothing much has changed all year there. I’d hate to see him go to West Coast. Alternatively, I’d consider doing it for Travaglia.
But I suspect if anyone does it, it’ll be GWS.
My concern at trading up would be losing our second rounder though. It’s shaping up as a key pick - even before the Jones injury, I had young KPF fairly high on our list of needs and it’s looking like there’ll be a run on around picks 25-40. So we could get a quality prospect. Alternatively, drop back a bit from there and get good trade value.
Would I trade up for Allan? I wouldn’t personally. He’ll be a good player no doubt, just don’t think he’s really what we need. I’d rather sit back and get whoever is left out of Lindsay, Berry, Reid and Hotton.
