Very happy for the Hawks to partner up with another big club like the Blues for Easter Monday, then you can have all 11 home games in Geelong and stop whinging. With no MCG home games and average crowds of 30k, your fan base will soon enough shrink back to where it was decades ago when you used to all home games in Geelong.
Hi mate,
Look, I know you're just trolling.

Firstly, I dont think Geelong should play all home games down in Geelong.

But just for shits and giggles, when was the last time Geelong played all of their home games in Geelong?
I'll help you out with your guessing.

1982?
1964?
1942?
1943?

Btw, just in case you dont know. We didn't play in 42 or 43. Our players were too busy being shot at.

And the answer is a lot earlier than that.
But here we go for some reference.

The most matches Geelong has played at Kardinia Park in a season is 10 in 1945, 1947, 1949, 1968-70, 1972, 1975, 1978, 1987-8, 1995-6. So 13 times in 162 years we've had 10 games. So that means for 149 years we've had 9 or less.

Actually, I'll correct myself. 1945 was a 20 game season (and we had 10 games at home). So that was the last time.
By that stage we'd played at the highest level for 86 years.

The shit stain club had been playing for 20.

Not really trolling, but I agree that Geelong can play 11 homes games if the want, but don’t expect to hold onto a blockbuster like Easter. Monday as well. That deserves the big stage with 35k fans of each team.

About 30k of your mob buggered off for a good while there mate. Funny they’re all back now.

I know it will never happen but i would love to see an actual Draw done for a season.

You know a club puts it's hand in the ball and pulls out another clubs name and that is who it get round 1 repeat for the next 16 rounds(removing any clubs you already got) until everyone has played everyone once.

After that since we need double ups for some reason repeat steps from above until 24 games are scheduled.

Yes some teams could get very lucky with double ups or very unlucky this way but who cares it would be better than the FIX the AFL currently do.

Remove the Easter Monday Geelong game and tell me the average crowd size for Hawthorn's home games in 2024...
