Sydney, Collingwood, Freo, Bulldogs and Port as double ups

So teams that lost in each week of the finals and one that was in contention until the last few games.

I look forward to 3 or 4 of them falling over and our 2023 fixture to be regarded as a gimme by finals next year
Pies won’t make the 8, same
Goes for Port

Very tough start to the year. Also a most difficult group of teams we've had to face at GMHBA for a long time.

On the flip side though, the amount of MCG games we've drawn on top of the GMHBA games is a win for us.
It is a tough start no doubt.

You want to get teams like Carlton and Gold Coast in the second half of the year when they start to run of gas. Even in their crapper years the Suns tend to win a few at home early on.

Bloody hell the pies kissed on the dick with there draw
Finish in the same tier as us yet play 1st, 4th, 9th, 11th, 14th & 15th twice

Compared to us
2nd, 3rd, 5th,7th, 8th and 11th
We won the flag and they didn't :D Our fixture should be harder.

It's a tough fixture for us but I still reckon we got off lightly considering we are the reigning premiers.

Pies and Syd should be four cracking games but the AFL could have easily thrown in the Lions, the Tigers, or the Dees as another of our double ups and they didn't.

That being said, we won't know if a fixture is hard until hindsight. We have all seen good teams suck the following season. We are the only club who is consistently up there. No matter how hard a fixture, I go into every game knowing we are a hot chance to win. Don't think any oppo supporters can say that about their teams.

To start 1/3 I think would be ok, 2/3 pretty damn good 3/3 exceptional as I’m banking rounds four and five.

Credits in the bank from the 🏆 should mean we can mix it up player wise to start the season I reckon having the four new boys is just the tonic to keep everyone on their toes pre season and hit the ground running.

Love it that other teams worry about 'tough' draws, because they just want to make the finals. But as James Kelly stated this year, we'll be concentrating on building during the year to peak at finals times. Perhaps that policy means we just scrape in, or we dont make it at all, but if things fall into place, like this year, we'll be in the best possible position to win another premiership, nothing else matters.

I like the draw - and particularly like the start - and only wowsers complain about draws

I can remember 3-4 years back approx - and the draw looked horrendously hard for Geel - particularly the start - the 1st 6-7 games - there were plenty of supporters/posters - i might have been one of them - saying we could lose our 1st 6 games -well guess what Geel won their opening 8 games or something - it was the year the Cats sat on top of the ladder to about round 17-18 when Freo ( who wernt much good ) beat us in Perth - and thats when the alarm bells went off - hah

I particularly like the start - Coll and Carlton the 1st 2 games -under lights at the MCG - given the capabilities of each club - the 3 big MCG games are Coll/Carlton/Rich - they are big drawing clubs . The next biggest game will be Haw on the Easter Monday - there will be 60k at that game - Hawks have dropped off the pace a bit - but they did beat us in our Premiership year

Very interesting year 2023 - anything could happen - which makes it exciting

I haven't seen a lot of non Geelong media lately. What exactly is the point of the everyone plays in SA round? I'm mystified.

Some nerds sat around a table and had a wet dream over it, so they showed some more nerds who also had a wet dream over it and so now for one round all teams play in one state and it will be really super exciting like.
