So just spoke to someone in the know and Cumming stepped in a small pot hole whilst they were training at Centrals causing him to twing his hammy. Just unlucky.
That was Peatling... surely.

Anyone know why Hinge missed training yesterday

Strauchnie in moon boot still

Draper limited drills

Welsh also left early. His fitness is below that of the group atm. It is something he will need to really work on

Cumming in rehab for most of session but did heaps of work

Found this quote from Daws interesting re Draper. Maybe not round 1?:

Draper is battling a back problem which means he has been on a modified program in recent times. “He has had a few issues with his body so he will be brought into the main group pretty slowly,” Crows captain Jordan Dawson told the Herald Sun earlier this week. “If he earns his way in, I mean he can definitely play a role, but he has a long way to go.”

I think it’s pretty clear that Draper is no hope for round 1. They’re managing his build up pretty heavily and there’s a lot of competition for the 23. Unless you’re midfield ready, you’re playing forward and we’ve got Tex, Fog, TT, ANB, Keays and Rachele as walk up starts. Then theres a rotating mid that covers the 7 and both Murphy and Pedlar are missing out if all fit. Plus Dowling and Taylor who both showed more than enough in their infancy aren’t yet in the picture.

I just hope that he doesn’t have to toil away in the SANFL. Get him to the fitness level required and debut him at AFL level. I know his 1 on 1 key defensive work needs improvement, as does his rucking, but let’s just focus on his strengths and deploy those when he’s fit enough.

The standard of the SANFL ovals are an issue. Too much traffic. Need to move much of the juniors, women and cricket to different ovals for training and game days and get the decks up to standard. Woodville is appalling after a bit of rain. A big reason why the standard from SANFL to AFL is such a gap.
Does Central have cricket played out there? If not, surely in December that oval should be in great nick, even if they d have cricket that wouldnt disrupt the surface too much.

No cricket at Elizabeth or Richmond, which is why a lot of our preseason sessions have been there

Seems strange that Footy Park would be out of action, all turf renovations could have been done in October with the surface in prime condition for when the footys come out again.
