Ash Johnson anyone ?

Could be a good back up for Charlie and Harry.....

We could steal him like pies still Mirkov...

On CPH2135 using BigFooty.com mobile app
Liam McMahon is as good or better than any delisted tall forward.

While there are some decent players among the delisted this year, I only have interest in the Hawthorn talls Phillips and Grainger-Barras as possibles during the SSP period. ie as rookies, not main list players.

McMahon replaces Mirkov on the list, as O’Keeffe (and Lemmey) offer developing ruck coverage.(along with Young)

Phillips/DGB replace Sam Durdin on the rookie list.

Cooper Lord replaces Matt Carroll.

We will get one throw at the stumps when Boyd is elevated to the main list. (Wil White gets some consideration there for mine, but there will be options including a reprieve for Matt Carroll or a variety of delisted players or new draftees)

I'd really like to see us take a flier on Carter Michael, the recently waived swingman from Brisbane.

I see him becoming one of our most valuable players in the future as not only is he a naturally flamboyant offensive weapon but a genuine lockdown defender to boot. Two way players are so important in this sport and he's proven himself extremely adept at this. Some might say that he's entering rarified Air in this respect

His best plays are sure to be on the highlight reel which means he will become a fan favourite and potentially a superstar.

He deserves another chance given the love affair with basketball backgrounds. Afterall, it'd be Vinsanity not to give someone named after both Vince Carter and Michael Jordan a fair opportunity. It's a slam dunk.

I do think Jack Carroll was more than a little unlucky: he did play 15 games, after all. But his place is basically going to Ben Camporeale, who gets his own pill and appears to have more defensive side to his game. Or Cooper Lord, who also is looking pretty decent and who has a strong defensive side to his game.
Was Jack going to get picked before these guys? You wouldn't suggest it at the moment.
Also, apparently Billy Wilson is going to -play more of a midfield role in 2025. Billy has pace and run, both of which we need.

As for Corey Durdin, he has another 12 months to demonstrate that he has what it takes. If he doesn't make in 2025, he could well be surplus to needs.

As to Brayshaw, my question would be, what is the price? if he is a free agent, I'd welcome him with open arms.

When you consider the price for someone like Brayshaw coming in, you also need to consider who goes out.

When you bring in a top end player to a reasonably strong team or better it allows you to trim the list and free up salary.

I think we may be still looking to offload a midfielder or two at the end of next year.

If Camporeale, Pick 3 and/or Lord really come on, Walker being a gift at the end of next year, I think Hewett will go out. If Brayshaw comes to us, Hewett definitely goes out. Cerra would be the other one who is likely to be moved on in this scenario. So acquiring Brayshaw may not be all that costly seeing as it allows us to let players go.

Two years time our midfield could be DeKoning Brayshaw Walsh Cripps Pick3 Lord. Camporeale in reserve. Walker playing on a flank. Other kids in the 2s. Hollands as a change mid. Cerra and Hewett traded out. Brayshaw in. We would not be increasing the cap at all with those movements and our list and best 22 improves. Cap may even shrink a little.

I think if we are smart about this and our contract length to fringe players we will be able to bring big names in as it allows us to trim a few fringe and mediocre players.

Over the next few years I would like to see further trimming of our midfield and a big clean out of small and medium forwards with some high end talent coming into those position and some youth through the draft filling the depth.

I thought we may have considered Carroll for a year as a reserve player but reality is he doesn't have a future in our senior midfield and WCE are waiting for us to delist him.

Thoughts on grabbing Kreuger and swinging him into defence? Thoughts on Allison as a tall mid that can rotate forward?

I love the enthusiasm, but he's played 4 games of footy in 2 years.

It’s extremely unlikely that Brayshaw will be able to land to us, even if the info pans out accurately…

Considering the higher that Freo finishes next season the worst off they will be compensated for a single pick aligned to their first pick…

You would think that they would be matching any offer to maximise multiple draft picks for better compensation for loosing one of their very best players, we don’t have a future first next year as well as Walker projecting to be in the top 3 the following year we need to match the bid for…

Ripper player, add the salary/contract to the scenario as well, just can’t see it happening…

I think Brayshaw is a deadset chance to go to North if they improve

Uncle was obviously the President and it was the club he and his brothers adored as kids

If they come on a little in 2025 I could see Brayshaw going there for sure
I honestly wouldn't want Brayshaw at the Blues, maybe if we didn't have Cerra but I just don't see them working in the same midfield.

Don’t understand your regard for Kreuger. He is Matthew Watson less the kicking boot. Big cumbersome bloke with massive turning circle. Actually had him in fantasy footy for a couple of weeks when needed some cover. Very competitive bloke, nit lacking in endeavour, very happy in his own skin (not shy in pushing his claims to selectors and coaches from reports). His ego probably got him further than his ability. Good piece at lower level, or depth. Slow, so would not like him in defence.

Allison has been a gunna for three years. Club was always waiting on him. Never quite got there, often through injury niggles. If he does have the ability is a fragile conveyance. Our history says no for mine.

My thinking is he is only slow because they took him from 89 kgs to 100 in the system, and taking some of that back makes him more nimble. Has plenty of agility, but I don't know where his injuries are at.

Reminds me a bit of Liam Jones in how he plays as a forward, think defence might suit him.

Allison rarely got proper midfield time, and happily roved well as a third forward option. The guy came in with a massive tank and the club never bothered to use him right. Saints are very myopic with various tall prospects, though we're not much better.
