Has Sam Durdin got better since he was delisted ? lol. He has missed alot of football the past 3 years & when he has played well in the twos its been against teams that have had undersized key forwards. Nothing personal against him I just don't see him as a AFL level key defender or reliable back up against Quality & agile key forwards

No problems at all Eskie gal.
I don’t usually get much info when I bump into these types at events as I don’t like to annoy them too much but happy to share the little snippets I do get👍
confirms what I have observed with Saad - shame that he has now lost that element from his game. Surprised Voss was so open about it

Age & injuries catching up with him, both inevitable.

Might have been my gently gently approach and different conversations with him over the course of 9 races….🤣

Pretty sure he was referring to aerobic capacity?

Well known

Given our structural deficiencies, the low quality & quantity of ball going to our players, it isn't so straight forward.
Whilst, we'd love players like Stengle & Miers in our side, if we're looking to them 6-8 times a game, they'd be wasted due to our obvious existing systemic issues.
Geelongs smalls are light-years better than ours. The reason their delivery and structure is so good is because of their small fwds not the other way around.

Noting Owies would have ranked 4th if on the Cats' list... well ahead of Close and Miers....

Don't make me laugh. Close, Miers, Stengle and Dempsey are so far ahead of Owies and our smalls as a collective it's almost a joke.

Look at their overall production not just goals. Score involvements, disposals, goal assists etc.

Yeah, once Saady started to get the injuries this season i think it's the writing on the wall in regards to next season. Im guessing he'll be rested throughout the year now with the younger brigade onboard.

Saad has actually been pretty durable throughout his career. I doubt we'll be resting him. As already stated, the comment about his running has nothing to do with his injuries but rather his lack of aerobic capacity which has always been the case.

He does seem to be losing a bit of pace though and that's really his weapon as an attacking half back. Has never been a particularly creative ball user or an accumulator. So, I think we'll be seeing him playing lockdown more and more over the next few years (which he is very good at) with younger guys taking over the attacking duties.

Not sure who that will be though. I don't think Boyd is enough of an accumulator to ever play that role. Newman can but is old himself. I'm hoping Cowan can step up big time and play like he did in the under 18s. Or possibly O.Hollands based on what we saw backend of last year. He can run and accumulate plus his ball use is pretty damaging if he gets it in space.

I would only want Rohan purely for his speed, last year alone:
RD9: 33km/h
RD10: 34.6km/h
RD15: 32.6km/h
RD16: 33.2km/h
RD17: 32.9km/h
RD19: 32.5km/h
RD23: 32.3km/h

Though, my main query would be why did we and Geelong value Rohan and Martin so differently, and I’d question as to who has had the better list management historically

Hope it’s a no but could justify it with the speed

Wasn't talking about the 'collective'....
As above, Owies was playing the easiest role in footy. C grade player made to look better by two elite key forwards taking all the attention and he was able to bob up now and then for an easy short lead and set shot. Stuffed up just about everything else he could.

The mourning of Owies departure just boggles the mind.

Need a better strategy for Saad around Ramadan, always seems to ping a hammy
No he doesnt. Pinging his hammy as our fitness regime went to shit is a far more relevant connection than reaching for Ramadan.

There is no proof of such a connection either

And 2024 research:

Each one of those was probably running to the bench...

Not wanting to pot the bloke even though he's now in opposition colors....but it was amazing how many times Owies was on the end of miskicks in the f50. Not sure if that's game awareness or sheer pot luck, but I'd suspect the latter.
