Weitering and Curnow are the only players
I wouldn’t consider trading. Harry I’d have to see fail as an centre half back before trading. Everyone else should be fair game.

Losing TDK would be an absolute disaster rebuild or not. Probably got 7-8 years of quality footy left in him.

It's honestly looking like we're going to have to look at moving on as many senior players as possible without gutting the key pillars. The list is just far too imbalanced. Harry has his good and bad days but this list needs an overhaul and he's the only semi expendable player worth anything on our list right now. I'd consider one of Walsh or Cerra too but I doubt they'd be any chance of being moved on as our only quality semi-young mids. Imo TDK is a must keep. He's a superstar in the making.

Build around these players and in a few years time with Cody and the other NGA kids coming through hopefully catch the back end of Weiters and Charlies primes. Nothing but speed, foot skills and repeat sprint machines to walk through the doors for the next 5 years.

Lachie Cowan - Jacob Weitering - ?????????
???????? - Harry O'Farrell - Billy Wilson

Ollie Hollands - Patrick Cripps - Lucas Camporeale
Tom De Koning - Jagga Smith - Sam Walsh

????????? - Jack Silvagni - Elijah Hollands
Ashton Moir - Charlie Curnow - ??????????

Adam Cerra - Ben Camporeale - Cooper Lord - ????????

(NGAs)
Jack Ison - 2025
Mingara Clark - 2025
Tyson Gresham - 2025

(F/S's)
Harry Dean - 2025
Cody Walker - 2026

Players we can look at buggering off over the next few years.

Harry Mckay - 2 Firsts
Adam Saad - 2nd/3rd Rounder
Blake Acres - 2nd Rounder
Mitch McGovern - Delist
Jesse Motlop - 3rd Rounder (Last night was a slight improvement)
Brodie Kemp - 2nd/3rd Rounder
Zac Williams - 3rd Rounder/Delist
Sam Docherty - Retire
Orazio Fantasia - Delist
Nick Haynes - Delist
Lewis Young - Delist
Francis Evans - Delist
Corey Durdin - Hopefully can get healthy soon

The only player on the list you would get a draft pick for is Harry McKay and it would be one first at best.

I know I'm going to get smashed for this, but part of me thinks that we will improve as a midfield/team when Cripps retires.
I think we might too, but it's not his fault - it's just we depend on him way too much, cook him in the ruck etc.

I'm a good social runner (18:50 5k, would run a 6:30-6:50 2k TT) and even at my bodyweight (~80kg) I struggle so much compared to my best friend who is my height but 72kg. I cannot fathom how Cripps would be a similar quality runner (I would assume he would be) at 10-15kg more than me.

Couple his huge bodyweight with the fact that we ask him to wrestle in the ruck, cope with a tag explode forward from stoppages.. Of course the already slow bloke is going to get burnt running the other way

Putting 6m bucks into 6 players is a massive gamble. 2 go down and you’ve not really lost 2 players. You’ve lost the whole strategy. 2m gets you 4 quality players. Most games we lose now are due to bottom 6.

I don’t recall the last time the big 6 all played together and fired. It’s rare as hens teeth.

The average club is spending over 6 million a year on their top 6 players. 6 million is only 33.7% of the salary cap, we're paying a little bit more than that, but still nothing out of the ordinary (see: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-06-28/afl-millionaires-club-set-to-grow-in-coming-seasons/104029774). Don't fall for the media hysteria regarding our salary cap, putting a 'million' in a headline gets them clicks, this is just the new landscape. The guys who are being paid well above their current market value are the ones hurting our list flexibility, Williams, Docherty, Acres and to a lesser extent McKay.

Has been glaring obvious for a while... we lack quality kickers & speed through the ground.

Jagga & Ellijah with small sample sizes are classy players with some polished that we lack .. hopefully going forward they can have a big impact.

Jack Martin was the biggest enigma... when he actually played we looked so much more potent & dangerous forward... wad really hoping he got his body right but we move on.

Young is the most frustrating player I've watched in a long time... no urgency & fundamentals , some of his efforts weak

Geez why not play Harry McKay Back next week on Darcy & see how he goes. If he's on young he will kick 8.

With all the list build why weren't we more aggressive finding decent CHB & small / goal kicking forward x2.

Watching last night guys I'm not sure about next year who have been good players but won't improve us hate to say Doc , McGovern, Haynes.

Think we can mini rebuild around the quality we do have but so true same blokes in our best every week shows lack of improvement.

Time to give some of the kids more responsibility & see if there up to it.

The most frustrating club in.Australian sport to follow 😑

We are really missing (and don't mistake me, I'm not for a second suggesting we should have kept them, they had to go) Martin, Cuningham and Marchbank.

They changed the complexion of the team through the back end of 23.
Would be great if we could find one (a fit, reliable one) of each.

Basically, two genuine HFF and a KPD. The same things we were crying out for even when we had them on our list due to their constant unavailability.

Well we do have a bloke who should be adding that pod up forward... but he's got his own issues...

Moir is another one. Needs time though, but I think if given the opportunity at AFL level he will thrive more.

We need to play some of the young players during the year & hope we can find some long term players.
Moir & Carroll & Binns & Ben Campo etc.
l reckon our list is definitely not going to take us to top 4 & mini rebuild is now required.
The only concern is Voss is probably coaching for his career & tends to stick with players.

Austin has not addressed gaps in our list and l will suspect will be under some pressure when Wright takes over.

Yeah, and most would say Marchy wasn't even a true KPD.

But those 3 altered the balance of the team. A bit more speed. A bit more skill. A bit more options.

I wouldn't call it a mini rebuild. We can make changes and improve next year.

Moir seems like he would be one of those players who would play better in the seniors than the 2s with better players around him.

Be interesting to see how he develops by end of this year. Def needs to build a tank... but unlike many others atleast he can kick

We have a number of players that will exit over the next 1-2 years with their age profile. Williams/Docherty/McGovern/Saad to name a few combine that with another 4-5 that are simply not at the required standard, l would expect in the next two years the team will start to look quite different, l would term that a mini rebuild.

We simply have too many players that lack speed & with poor kicking skills.
