Apparently Jack ready for full contact work. Charlie still to be eased into it but seems fine. Acres may take a few weeks but no issues. Can't find anything definitive on Saad but hints are he isn't 100%. Cincotta injury quite serious and will miss pre season

Club very impressed with younger players so far. Many really pushing senior players.

Game simulation to start in 1-2 weeks. Be very interesing to see who plays where and who stands out

I asked about SSP and no one can say who will be picked. It's very very tight and any injuries over next month or so could decide

A regular track watcher named Binns Williams Lord Cowan Cerra as pre standouts so far but many doing well. Plus Smith is a genuine star

That would be a little surprising but incredible for him and the club
Last year he averaged 18 touches and 3/4 a goal per game in his first season at the club and despite serving a 3 game suspension at the start of the season.

Not too hard to see him improve by 25% this year which puts him at 22 touches and a goal a game roughly. Not too many can do that as a primary half forward with the occasional chop out on ball.

I believe I had him as a top 5 BnF poller in my predictions in the 2025 predictor thread. I think he's a seriously underrated talent, if he can get his body to the next level his footy IQ and kicking talent is as good as we have on the list. If he starts winning his contests too and finding more space through his running power he'd be a handful.

My suspicion is that it might take a year or two longer than we expect though. Hoping this year is the year he explodes.

Everything from the footage so far just looks incredible re Jagga. The perfect pod mid we needed to compliment our big brutes. I suspect Walshy will love feeding off of him in transition more than anyone else.

Hoping Cowan has a more involved role this year too, he's a fantastic player but was pigeonholed a bit last year to play more lockdown. His games where he played up the ground a bit more were awesome.

Two questions on Elijah for me. Talent is incredible

1. Needs to improve workrate for entire game. Can get a bit lazy and not push through. Hoping improved fitness makes a difference

2. His role. If he plays HF with some mid minutes it’s hard to dominate. Will he get more minutes up the ground?

If he steps up we are so much better

Still think he ends up replacing Newman off a flank where we'll see his kicking at its best for some reason. Such a weapon when he's involved in the game.

Big call! I disagree, but it makes for interesting discussion. I think it was obvious he unfit coming into 2024. If he has a big pre-season (like we are seeing), then he can certainly become something special with his smarts and skill. I would utilise that in a mid-forward role. But smarts and skill can transfer to any role.

I'm still very much on the fence with Elijah.

HFF can be one of the hardest positions to stamp yourself on a game, but I'd like to see a lift in intensity on both sides of the ball.

Where do people see Elijah in the future, does he stay as the goal kicking hhf hybrid, or do people see him develop into a full time mid like petracca did

I remember mid year hearing an interview with Sam Docherty, and he mentioned that Elijah was playing the Kane Lambert role, which allowed Cripps to free up and go forward. Thought some of his performances last year were incredibly impressive

Yep. Played some great footy. Hope he can now build consistency. Talent is not the issue.

How Voss uses him will mean a lot

I hope I'm wrong, but I see him as having some shining moments but when his career is over the consensus will be something like "so much potential but couldn't apply himself consistently enough"

I think he has that laconic style that will make it easy to criticise

I think he can be a real “impact” mid playing 6-8 minutes an qtr and high HF or Wing.

I hope he is part of our midfield mix this year that can just keep going all game and doesn’t drop away when Cripps Walsh etc have a break

That's not far off what I meant. I don't think he'll ever be a 4 quarter player. He'll have impact, and possibly turn a game or two in a short burst. Similar to Jack Martin but to a lesser extent.

I looked at E Hollands 2024 highlights - that go for 20 + minutes - clealry one of our better users of teh ball - you want the ball to get to him as much as possible - a better fitnes base from him woudl be handy in that regard. Voss has a lot of weapons to use in this list - no need to play a boring game plan.
