Player Watch #21: Noah Balta - Signed Until 2032

No it isn't. It's as obvious as dogs balls that he's a gun defender, and a mediocre forward.

We can waste another 2 years and 40 games trying to turn a square into a circle, or we can settle him down when he's 23 next year with 60 odd games under his belt and watch him reach AA calibre as a CHB/FB, with maybe the odd cameo in the ruck when we need a spark or as a chop out for Nank.

If you're comfortable making sweeping final judgements based on well and truly less than 1000 minutes of football (and a fair portion of that with him actually succeeding in the role), then that's up to you.

You may well be right, but personally, I like a much bigger sample size and way more clear cut evidence in that sample before I start throwing around statements like "obvious as dogs balls" and getting righteously certain about things.

One thing I am certain about, is that we'll spend quite a bit of summer scratching our heads about an over supply of quality KPD's. Something has to give.

Cost us two goals last night, first was giving away the free kick to Hipwood on quarter time although to be fair that only gets called against Richmond and the second was allowing Hipwood to get in front of him when blind freddy could see that Camerons intentions were to slap the ball towards the goal.

Lastly how many times in the last month has he allowed his opponent to take an easy mark on the lead with him no where in sight. Hipwood should have kicked another as a result of this last night.

Needs to work hard over preseason and become the player he can be. Also watch some tape on Tarrant and see what it is to be a defender.

I am not saying it's true or false, just I have not heard anything like that. From what I have heard and know Balta loves the club and the club sees Balta as the future.

Could be true was all over the shop this year and not switched on due to us playing him everywhere and himself not in great form wasn't impressed one bit even when he went back in defence to many brain fades , lacks awareness and smarts cost us times example was the last minute against the lion' bit overated for me and escapes criticism. Needs to trim down for me and work harder someone like Truck would be beneficial.
