Loved the jib back to the reporter when they questioned him about locking horns with Warlord a couple of years back.. "who won?.."

This guy hates losing and if anyone thinks of staying on the gravy train of coasting through trainings and games they have another thing coming.

He sounds so invested in this club. Great to see. Love that he'll be along to support the women on the weekend too.

Due to the relatively high price we paid for Daniel it's gone a little bit unnoticed that both Daniel and Parker are premiership winners, all Australians and both spent significant time in their Club's respective leadership groups.

These are serious achievements and there I have little doubt they will help drive standards and steady the ship onfield when it starts getting off track.

Daniel was vice captain last yr

One of the first things he touched on was that without the wins on the board then there can be doubt about training standards and the process etc

I don't know whether improvements will snowball into greatness once we start getting some wins under our belt, but I strongly believe that we need those wins in order to avoid the worst case scenarios.

Not sure if it’s been said, but I really like the way he spoke about carrying the load when younger players need it. He seems like someone who will be able to let guys determined to keep going that they, and the team, are better served shifting their efforts into different roles, and the senior guys can carry the responsibility while they do what is best for their development and the team.

This guy will be huge not just for his footy ability but his leadership will be a game changer.
In those moments when the game is in the line or even when errors happen - Parker will be there to steady things down
When we've lost a few clearances in a row, this bloke is gonna steady the ship and lead the young guys.

Its a Process that is 1000% spot on, Caleb is going to be important for us as is Luke, but Caleb brings lots of other attributes that we haven't had in a long time, now I know some have potted him because of the second round draft pick we gave up and some just don't think he's going to help us anymore than someone else would {move the needle} and some are 50/50, plus the minority who actually think its a good deal, we got our man, If we don't do that deal, he stays at the Bulldogs where some would be quite happy I feel. Get behind him and not just 75%, make it 100%!😮‍💨

He kept his shit together in the thrashing that was the grand final. How many of our blokes do we think would be able to do the same? He will be so valuable to us in regards to keeping other players focused on the task at hand, instead of getting the sooks or complacent for whatever reason.

Don't forget the other recruit - Jack Darling. He is also a former premiership player, All-Australian, and been in West Coast's leadership group for years I believe.

Time will tell.

I think our young guys this year did a lot of the heavy lifting which was certainly an issue. You can't expect blokes with less than 20 games under their belt to do all the work every week. It doesn't work that way and it actually impacts their ability to showcase the talent they all have. Even guys like Sheezel would've been overwhelmed at times.

Just bringing in Parker, Daniel and even Darling means we now have more experienced heads to correct the ship's heading when we're going off course. It is not going to always be pretty (to be honest even the best teams have their bad moments) but the most important thing is we need to be able to eventually shift the momentum and put pressure back on the opposition. A defensively accountable opposition will be unable to shift the accountability onto us unless we let them.

The best teams make their opponent become reactive and forget what they should be doing because of the concern. If we're not respected, we've already lost the battle before even crossing over the white line. This list is very talented but it was in a horrifying predicament where it couldn't figure out what leadership meant and its impact on-field. It needed direction and composure when the pressure gauge went bonkers.

Opposition in the past know that if the pressure is always high we can't handle it. Some teams fall asleep and we get by only just but some do a number on us (WB and Hawks last two rounds). Need to change that.

Should absolutely, unequivocally be appointed captain.

I have a sense that Parker wouldn’t want it unless asked directly by LMac and Jy. Not because he wouldn’t feel up to it but because he respects them. Just a sense.

If that’s the case I also believe he’ll make it clear they have his full support and anything he can do to assist he’ll do with 100% commitment.

Time will tell.

No matter where it ends up I feel like he will be able to have a significant impact as a leader for our football club.
