Luke Parker
Luke Parker has plenty of football ahead and has already compiled a resume packed with impressive achievements. Since landing at the Sydney Swans via the 2010 AFL Draft, he has won a 2012 premiership medal, earned All Australian selection and won two Bob Skilton medals. In 2015, he was added to the club’s leadership group at the age of just 22, and has led the team as a co-captain alongside Josh Kennedy and Dane Rampe since 2019. While Parker is among the league’s elite midfielders, his strong marking and expert game awareness make him a genuine threat when rotating through the forward line.

Luke Parker

Keep in mind it was a ideal opposition to bring in Mills/Parker not saying he didnt take his opportunity just perspective a bit.

But he looked fresh as and extremely lively around the contest
It's all relative isn't it? The other players also played North didn't they?

Judging by Horse's presser, sounded like he was weighing up a few factors. First and foremost, he didn't want to muck around with a settled side. If Parker was coming in, it would be for Wicks who was going to be the sub. But then he didn't want Parker just coming on for a few minutes either as he wanted him to get a decent run. It almost sounds like Parker was the one to convince Horse that he didn't care and just wanted to be back amongst it with his team mates. In the end, Horse made the call to play him, McInerney got injured and Parker got a good run after all. Played well and now is back in best 22 contention. Happy days for all!
Except McInerney and Wicks

Showed in 1q that he is easily best 22

He showed he was fit, that was pleasing .

Be interesting if he is sub again or starts and where he starts zz

Brisbane will be a nice test too .

I'd start him forward personally and make Fox sub

All's well that ends well, but I just don't understand why there was even a debate about him coming straight back in this time.

I took the implication to be (rightly or wrongly) Mills was fit and Parker had question marks. He had Mills straight back because he hit all his numbers, then spoke about Parker needing a full game?

But then he said Parker worked so hard for 6 weeks.

I don't know maybe he just was worried Parker was going to play like he finished off last year , maybe Horse reads this thread and wants everyone to keep banging on at each other

Most tackles in just 1q

Yeah it was great, he was also the freshest guy on the ground and his team mates did a lot of heavy lifting , take nothing away , but don't expect him to poll 3 votes a week from here , need to manage him well, we ran him into the ground last year.

Don't need him to be best on ground but if he can be an upgrade from the 22nd best player on ground to the 10-15 range then thats a massive win

Imagine you're a mid who has been busting his arse grinding out more than a half of footy and then you look across the centre circle and there's Luke Parker with his hair still perfectly gelled and his jumper nice and white and ironed. Diaper time.

A Luke Parker with a chip on his shoulder.

Also the energy he gave us getting ready to come on from the crowd...is it worth having a swans veteran on the bench each week, not playing but stand up take the tracksuit off, crowd gets excited , they sit down.

Wheel Bobby Skilton out for the granny etc

I'll go find something else to do
