When you consider that we played Cunnington who can't spread, George who has no tank and plays about 60% game time and an unfit TT who can't spread well or run both ways like a mid should then it's pretty easy to understand why Phillips didn't play.

Powell has also been left out of the centre square while Will almost plays exclusively in there. That is a huge advantage for Will in getting a spot in the 24 22 ahead of Powell.

Although this is true that Powell doesn't get the opportunities that Philips has in the centre square, if he was setting the world on fire there in the VFL I'm sure they would play him more there in the AFL.

I’d suggest that isn’t true at all . He’s slow as **** and struggles to kick it 35 metres
