Horror day at training by the sound of it. Brings back memories of the Adelaide game years ago when the doc collapsed.
Confidence levels have dropped a bit….

Scott said King was conscious, communicating, and not suffering a life threatening episode.

Also said the feedback on King's prospect of recovery was very encouraging.

Also spoke about how they had addressed it with players, and imparted some confidence that everyone has remained composed.

Scott addressed that in his presser today. Players are kept informed, no one is telling them how or what to feel + it’s not being ignored. There’s a feeling of great care for King + family, then - what’s next, let’s get on with it. Sounds well managed by club.

I got anxiety now, just hoping Max can play to his full potential and not be run down with whatever illness he has. Hopefully it’s near the end of it and that’s why they said he will play. If he is a late out by any chance who comes in for him?!
Doubt Holmes would train if he was ill. Sounds like he’s at the end of a cold or flu + trained on his own as a precautionary measure. Scott said after Covid, they’re very strict about isolating.

Maybe Tuohy, maybe Despair 😊

I think the big difference between today's event and what happened in Adelaide, is that after today the club has 24 hours to get around the players, if they need to talk to someone that will be available and while King isn't necessarily expected in the coaches box tomorrow night, he could well prepare a message for the players

Back in Adelaide it happened less than 30 minutes to the first bounce, the sheets/privacy screens came out due to the work they had to perform on the doc out on the field, and not really the time to bring the group together and process the situation

It's a shit situation and you never want to see any club have to deal with this type of thing - so while there's not necessarily a good time for this to happen, the day before the match is the lesser of two evils compared to match day

Really good to hear, thanks for that information.

Dunno if its just me, but I feel like there is too much optimism for the Cats
That's why there are balancers here like me??
  • last time we had gastro before a prelim, we were smashed by Demons;
  • the S King episode will not enhance optimism;
  • surely we can't beat Lions in 3 prelim finals out of 3?

Agreed

Certainly have already questioned point 3 also - pure romance means Brisbane might be well placed to overrun us

-We haven't had gastro this week
-Midfield preparation is done, they will lift in King's honour
-Why not? Richmond 3 for 3 against Geelong in recent finals.

Too easy.

As said, too much optimism needs reasonable balance.
But I like it..
