Dekoning is unlucky but he’s mostly had a poor two years since the premiership. At this time of year they just have to go with the best group they can to beat who we’ve got.
The biggest issue for him is he actually hasn’t been playing down back so that added another layer of concern if he was coming in where was he playing.

There’s a chance he still comes in to the side but either way I’m confident we’ve put out a good side that could win. I’m not overly confident we will win but everything is there for us to do it.

Dekoning has some training in the off season to improve his game. I’d love to see him transition into a ruck who drifts forward. But whatever spot he plays he needs to work on his strength in the contest.

As always, it has zero relevance how anxious or confident we are as supporters, whether we slept, whether we have that good or bad feeling- this team will deliver what it does. That said, I think the best 2 teams will play in the GF this year, and for me, that is Swans. Lions. Unfortunately for Brisbane, they’ll likely be cooked next week if they get up today, whereas we would be a better match for Swans, based on loads. Really hope we can continue our apparent dominance of Brisbane in finals, but just don’t think it’s about us this year.
Have been wrong once or twice before- hope that’s the case today.

More than once or twice 😉

If you posted anything other than doom and gloom for the cats I would be shocked and highly concerned.

So thank you for your consistency and for making me feel better.

I'm feeling pretty nervous, probably compounded by the fact I'm going to the game.

Haven't been to a prelim since the one we lost to the Hawks..

I'm personally pondering the weather and whether SDK is a possible late inclusion, and if that has always been the case... guess time will tell

Geelong have the advantage of the extra week off and playing in their home state. Brisbane have a wealth of talent and shouldn't be underestimated.
Main concerns for me are Stanley vs McInerney and how Bews and Mullin handle the pressure. Cats are in the box seat and should get it done. Go Cats.

It is hard not to be overconfident when you start visualising how this game is going to play out….then flashes of cheerleader fagan looking confused on the bench come to mind……overconfidence is an inevitable consequence

I swear fagan looks like a disoriented elderly relative trying to figure out how to use his wifi at times. One day we will find out who is actually coaching this Brisbane team.
Who actually sits up the top behind the glass for them?

Never known a Coach to play mind games?

Yes, I have, but unless he's a very good actor Scott's body language and demeanor convinced me that he was being serious.

He talked through how and why none of the guys I named were considered for today's game, and came across as being very sincere about it.

Cats have been very good at the G this year outside the 2nd Carlton game during the dog days of the middle of the year

Confident can win but will be close.

Would love a huge game out of Stewart to support Dangerfield and Holmes.
