The major complaint is the directive to talk non stop - I think most could be reasonable- but by being forced to talk non stop they run out of material and end up talking drivel.I'm too young to remember cricket in the 70's (gutted I missed it tbh) but I've read up on it, watched a lot of docos, interviews etc and everything points to Ian Chappell being a man's man both on and off the field.
People should be careful not to complain too much about him either. Given the 'talent' that has infiltrated the commentary box in recent seasons, could you imagine who would replace the wise old head? I shudder to think of it.
