He's sorta living off his 2019/20 summer though

There isn’t an obvious better alternative that’s the issue and don’t say sub 30’s Bancroft. Not as if it’s the 1990’s where we had 10-12 blokes averaging 50+ domestically

Cue Luke Parker coming in with the no changes to the team mantra

Not even close

100%. Labu still averaging above 50 with the bat, and whilst it wasn't a high scoring series, played an on-par average of 40 in the previous series vs Pakistan (not to mention an incredibly stoic counter-punching 60-odd in the ODI World Cup final - guy is class).

Much like Smudge, who's averaging similar numbers, they are both suffering from their insane batting feats in prior years, making decent returns look bang average.

They're not hitting heights or tons yet, but still plenty of tickets to work through their batting issues. Green is still most under pressure, but will be given a solid spell to build his confidence.

It is a concern but it is also why you don't drop a guy who is still averaging 50 in test cricket despite his form concerns.
His average is misleading because it’s been under 40 for the last two years.

One hundred in his last 30 innings.

Obvious is Marnus out, Bancroft in and smith down, but they have made it clear that Bancroft has had his papers stamped.
Yeah the guy who is horrendously out of form with an average in the mid 30's for the past couple years should make way for the guy who has a test average of 26. That is the obvious play.

Well this is the selectors experiment right here, both ends, right now.

There has to be a better alternative and whether we like it or not they are always going to give this side the NZ series at least.

Not good enough yet. The batting line-up looks awful with him there. Why would you not put Head at 4 he's one of the best bats in the world?
Head has been one of the best in the world at five, yeah. I like Green at four. Think it suits better.
