England are rebuilding their squad and blooding youth now into their team. Whereas we look like we’re hanging onto a LOT of older players and hoping they keep playing like they have in the past, despite the numbers clearly showing otherwise.

Unless we starting planning a future without some of the older players, the next Ashes will be a slaughter - and not by us.

The over importance of the ashes baffles me sometimes. England in Australia have been unwatchable for 30 years bar one good series against us in 2011. I get the history but give me an India Australia test series
