I'm still marvelling at both catches by Smith. The reactions needed for the catch off Lyon is something else.
Diving forward late in the game with the test on the line to dismiss Bumrah is out of this world clutch.

In regards to Joel Wilson & DRS

I get people care more when a Joel Wilson blunder goes against Australia but this just proves he's hopeless regardless of who's playing. Surely there are better umpires who fulfil the neutrality requirement for a series between Australia and India.

This is what we get when nobody wants to be an umpire

Spoke to a mate who lives in Sydney today, he's going along on Jane McGrath day after losing a relative earlier this year.

Currently considering a flight up. Flights aren't as heinous as I thought they might be, and the weather on Saturday and Sunday is looking ok

Epic catching from Smith. He’s so bloody good in the slips.

You can really sense Marsh playing in’s Sydney and making runs. Then we’ll endure him for another seasons.

Agree with where you are coming from but let’s say we win in Sydney and win series 3-1 then the overwhelming voice will be they stuck fat with the team and got the result we wanted. This has been how the Aussies have done things for the last 40 years. Harder to get out of the side than get in it.

This is for all batsman (including openers)

9 centuries in a calendar year for Yousuf...that's an entire career for some players.

Also shows how good Clarke was at his peak. I know that 2012 was boosted by the unbeaten triple, but when he was on he was incredible.

This is a bit silly.

He knows how he feels, and that's about it. He doesn't know more than the physios or team docs do. Pretending that the scientists and doctors don't know more than the player themselves - when the player's health and condition is literally their entire ****ing job - is extremely silly.

If a doctor tells you you have cancer, you going to up and tell 'em, "Nope, I know how I feel, and I feel like I don't have cancer."?
It should be a combination of the two. A medical practitioner cannot know everything, and they rely on the honest feedback of the patient.

The cancer analogy is ridiculous as a blood test can definitively ascertain that diagnosis.

This is so obvious to the point of being redundant.

Of COURSE a doctor needs a patient to be honest with them! The problem here is that the patient in question - Mitchell Starc - might not be being honest with themselves about his readiness to play, and that he's more injured than he's willing to admit for any number of reasons.

... and?

The point being, unless you're a doctor yourself, you're not able to do that blood test for yourself, are you? Are you going to know you've got cancer based purely on feels?

You either trust the experts around you or you don't, and if you don't why do you keep them around?

Die hard cricket fan here. In fact my first cousins are Morne and Albie (if you can remember him) Morkel, it's in the blood so to say.

Have been camping since boxing day, out of reception, and only just got a bar now to see the result - my only question is, was this test really as good as I've heard? Is it the best test match played on home soil since the 70s?

Assist my ailing FOMO, but belated joy in watching all 5 days when I get back. Much obliged.

Marsh is a top 6 bat. So runs are the most important thing.

Marsh this series
73 runs at 10.4.

Marsh in 2024
15 inns 283 runs at 18.8

No one expects him to take heaps of wickets.

But you can't keep being selected if you aren't even contributing with overs to give the others a break.

It's known he can't back up bowling. Clearly managing his work loads. Fitness and injury issues. Speed is now dropping and that limits his chance to be a threat.

Anyone else would be an improvement.
Pick another bowler. Cummins can be the all rounder
