Im not saying he didn’t.

Saying it’s his fault for the result would not be correct though would it
No, which is what I said. BF just makes people pick a side and refuse to have nuance - which is not what you did, but I just assume everyone is as cooked as that.

What a great win, anyone who didn’t rate Carey can stick it up their *en arses!
I would be very confident in saying Plugger35 does not rate him.

Speaking of poor old Plugger35, I assume he is out getting his straight jacket fitted. 😃

lol fair enough.

I actually thought watching that innings as it happened Captain Smith would have tried to do it all himself from the moment Carey got out.

But it was also such a tantalising score that with players like Starc, Cummins and Lyon, each of them could have easily biffed off a significant chunk of it in five overs and Starc especially looked like doing it when he got to 20 in no time before throwing it away again

If you can't make money selling ~40k tickets for a 4 day match you've made terrible financial decisions. I'm not going to include travel and accom since it's a 2 match series but even including all those factors you should absolutely be breaking even. People make a lot more money selling much less tickets to events with similar costs.
Any idea what it costs to stage a Test Match? Including paying the players?

I have worked an an industry extremely close to cricket, I know exactly how much these events cost in a parallel industry. The only way they lose money on these events (unless they're EXTREMELY stupid) is their national contracts are ****ed.

I would think in NZ this relates very closely to where they stage the games. They only have the three major population centres and the two grounds they chose were very specifically chosen as they’re spectator friendly, usually the most well attended and provide good atmosphere. The same crowds at bigger venues would not reap the same profits, and the same games staged at similar sized venues but in smaller cities would do likewise.

For mine, today reflected even more favourably on Shamar Joseph's performance in Brisbane - he was able to do what this NZ bowling line up couldn't: bowl his side to victory over Australia.

I'm still amazed that we've now avoided defeat against the Kiwis in all but 1 of our last 34 Tests against them. The monkey on their backs is now bigger than King Kong.

He's probably contemplating what will happen first - a St. Kilda flag, or a NZ win over Australia :).

Interested to see how many balls they bowled around bail height near off stump.

Craddock made a pretty smart but basic observation about Joseph at the Gabba - while obviously it helps when you can bowl high 140s - when everyone else was whinging about the pink ball doing nothing after 20 overs he basically just said, well fine I will just bowl as fast as I can in a very regular corridor and be challenging the stumps a lot.

NZ were all over the place at times

Mate the kid is a rapidly rising superstar of world cricket - I can't wait to see what he can do in England.

People being capable of flying to the moon on a broomstick is much more likely to happen before either of those scenarios 😂
Where does the Redbacks winning a Sheffield Shield fit into all of that? :)

You and me both.

I am more than happy for him to earn some cash in the odd league here and there but I’m praying to God he sticks to his word and keeps putting his hand up for the test team.

Holder if HE sticks to his word should be available to play that series too. It would make a huge difference to have him in the Greaves role from the Gabba side. Kevin Sinclair (the backflip artist who made some handy runs in that test) made a big hundred in the last round of the first class comp too.

England I expect to try and bounce back hard but their bowling is nothing to be scared of for our young batsmen and their batting is fragile.

Can’t wait to watch!

Disappointing to lose from the position we were in at the start of the day.

If we had Conway and Jamieson we probably win that test and may have even won the series.

And disappointing but typical you give no credit to Australia but offer up sore, bull shit excuses. Wake up to yourself you ####ing embarassment.

South Australia might even win the Shield.
