Thats the issue. Our forwards arent enough like Rawlings because he does the basics the best.
And its funny when were not going well Brady is always the one who performs yet cops it, and when were winning Boomer or Spitta take all the compliments and Brady doesn get noticed.
Disliked him when he started. Liked him as a tagger. Hated him as a midfielder. Love him as a defender. He needs to be there in our next premiership.

Re: 3. Brady Rawlings

Brady has had limited game time in the NAB practice matches and has been solid without standing out.

It is reported that he is being managed for hamstring niggles, but I expect him to line up for round 1.

Mods, is there any chance we can splice the "Brady Watch" thread in to this thread, as it contains a lot of info on Bradys 2010 season?

Thanks.

Re: 3. Brady Rawlings

Round 1 2011 v West Coast

Brady had his usual solid game picking up 32 disposals and 8 marks, and he was pivotal in providing much of our drive in the first half out of defence (19 disposals to half time).

However, like most of the team, Brady dropped away in the second half, and played deeper in defence.

7/10

Worst game he has played in a long, long time.
We've always known his disposal is dodgy, but today was the worst it has been for a long time. Continuously put teammates under the pump with little handballs, and then shanked his kicks as well.
He really let us down today, not through lack of effort, but lack of skill.
Sadly Harvey was the same today...our two leaders had a game to forget.

The worst thing is these 2 and maybe McMahon were the only ones to give a shit out there. The rest should be ashamed.... Sick of all the articles and hearing the same rubbish pre-season. Actions speak louder then words.

Depending how the year goes, might be better to leave him out of the team and run half a year's games into a younger bloke. Radical, but not sure what we should do atm, things just haven't been working over the past couple of years.

100% agree, 25 odd disposals and least 7 goals from direct Rawlings turnovers.

Said it after last year will say it again time for him to retire gracefully.

Getting games into Gav would be so much more beneficial for the club.

I had Rawlings in my best last week, and have long been a defender of his on this board.

Not today, though.

Some Sam Powers-like stuff this afternoon from our two-time B&F. Some of his poor disposals were clearly due to Magpie pressure, but a few were not. One particular occasion was one in the final quarter where he was all alone, we had men in the middle lining up, and he shanked it stright to an opponent who duly set up a goal. It typified his day.

Champions (usually) bounce back, though.

So did any one hear Boomer defend himself and Rawlings on ABC Radio after the game?
Mark McClure who I usually can't stand says to Boomer you older blokes had a really bad day today and Boomer says "Oh but we have credits in the bank, its the younger guys who let us down." WTF
Boomer you are the F***en captain and have had the 2 worst games I have ever seen, you need to LEAD by example not pot others for their bad games to deflect from yourself and Brady.
Grow a couple Boomer and take the wrap for a couple of shocking misses for goal today (and yes you weren't alone) and learn to lead.
I am appalled that you would get on national radio and pot a couple of team mates after a poor showing by just about everyone in the team, that's not a leader that's a sooky la la who couldn't cop the criticism

He constantly makes bad decisions under pressure. Has been like this for years but the BF cheer squad never makes him accountable for the choices he makes.

You can look at his stats and I bet it again will have 80%+ DE because stats don't show how brutally he cooked his team mates.

He will put in some good games against mediocre opposition but in the games like these where the club makes a point of pride, every experienced senior player that lets down the club in the critical games should question their reason for being in the side.

We don't need senior players to pull in blinders against shit opposition, we need them to make a difference against the good teams and show some composure and leadership for the kids. Again, it was our senior players most disappointing again today, from turnovers, not taking opportunities, not holding some pretty regulation overhead marks (Petrie), etc allowed us to be totally butchered today instead of go down with some respect.

Sick of the club talking bullshit and not producing when it counts.

I don't care if they bounce back and get 200 disposals against some shit club, they need to hold firm against the good clubs, our kids were left out with no leadership today, that isn't good.

Disgraceful comment from Boomer, why did this guy ever get named Captain in the first place.

We went from a bloke who could have been best on ground and still blamed himself for the loss to a selfish prick.

You know what atleast he had a ****in dip when no one else did.
Sure he didn stick to his role but when where gettin slaughtered someone had to do something. Unfortuantely its not his job to do it but he still did.
If everyone showed the same heart or intent we wouldn have got pumped by 87.
Yes he sucked didn look just panicked but **** me id take an 87 point loss over anything plus 100.
