Absolutely no need imo. Just ensure he is ready for day 1 pre season. I’m sure he will have screws etc in the ankle, and that hasn’t been great for him historically. Just do a slow and steady rehab with sole focus on round 1 next year.
I reckon if he's fit, definitely play him late. Would be a great tonic for the young fella after so much rehab.

I see we have removed the moniker "C&*m".

Good work and finally you did. The curse has been lifted. Took him to snap in half again though.

Just you wait and see

He was in the players race on Sunday during the 4th qtr watching the game, with LDU, Turner and can’t remember the 4th (maybe Drury). He was getting bloody excited when we hit the front. Had only a small amount of strapping popping up from his sock on his ankle. He’s a big lad!

Can we play the 3 big (Souva/Chom/CCJ) forwards on the ground together.
Absolutely. Chom can play around the ground, has pace, agility, endurance and will provide us the mobile tall option to complement CCJ. Larkey stays forward but can also push up.

I really see Chom as being a swingman we can play anywhere, including an occasional ruck. As with everything just need his body to stay together and get continuity in his game. He had a number of almost games before his latest injury.

Wouldn’t want him anywhere near the ruck after his injury, at least for a while. CCJ can take those, just needs to compete, not necessarily win the ruck contests.

I see chom more playing the w80 role - just roaming from full forward to half back as an outlet when required.

We might have been within eye sight of each other

Xerri - ruck
Larkey - CHF
Chom- FF
CCJ - Bench

Make it so

XXXX Comben XXXX
Larkey CCJ XXXX

Larkey stays in the F50. CCJ does what he does forward/part time ruck. Comben gets on his bike and marks the ball higher up the ground. I really don't think we need to be thinking of him as a "kick goals first" type of player when he returns. Bring the energy, pressure and marking and he will continue to improve the side further up the ground.

Add in:

Zurhaar
Sheezel
George
(Watson)
Thomas
Spicer
Another developing mobile KPF

And our forward line might finally be looking in decent shape.

3 are too many for me.

We need speed in our forward line. It won Richmond 3 flags.

If CCJ improves significantly, I'd be moving Comben to CHB.

He's the closest thing we have athletically at that height to Darcy Moore - with more aggression.
