Good work 2 years was appropriate. 1 year was probably fair for his senior output to date.

But every other club has now had a glimpse of his potential making 2 years most likely a necessity.
To me his kicking is a bigger worry than his injuries, as he seems to be over the original injuries he had early on, and this break was more bad luck than him being injury prone. However, his goal kicking, if he can't significantly improve it, will put some serious limitations on his AFL career, as much as people here don't want to accept it. It's all about hitting the scoreboard and maximising opportunities.

He’ll go the way of Levi Casboult.

I think his goal-kicking has improved this year. It was bad last year but he seemed to hit some good ones this year.

Everything is about development for him. We shouldn't be concerned.

His first set shot vs Sydney seemed to indicate pretty sound technique? Do you have concerns over his action or mental ability to kick goals?

Both. His ball drop seems to be the issue, but consequently, as he misses more than 50% of his shots, that has a flow on effect on his confidence, meaning that every shot is never certain. Pretty hard to become a quality forward without being a good kick. Larkey and Peter Wright are the opposite examples - they aren't great at catching it, but given their sound kicking technique, are able to kick bags of goals.

Agree. It’s an issue, I have a sneaking feeling they were kind of hoping it would sort itself somewhat with confidence and a bucketload of shots on goal… He has a booming kick at times and I’ve seen him slot some great ones at VFL level so hopefully it is resolvable, will never be Larkey though.

Zero hanger are reporting that Charlie has recorded the equal fastest speed of any player this year of 37.8k/h. It equals the record of Gary Rohan and was recorded in the game he got injured v Melbourne.

I think a few in here speculated that that might've just been the speed of the stretcher vehicle that took him off the field lol

Time to start training with the defenders big lad.

Imo he's a CLASSIC type for the big bloke who struggled as a forward and then became a top end key defender.

Does he have the emotional regulation to be a defender? I kinda like watching the emotional rollercoaster up forward where it's no harm, no foul.

struggled as a forward? he's played 9 games. nay, 8 games and a quarter. I'm prepared to give him more time in our F50 before writing him off as a forward. He has the tools, just needs to good run at it.
Besides, we are screaming out for key forwards. The weakest part of our list. More so than our defence.
