If someone told you before the game that Wood and BBB would combine for 1.7 + some OOF action, how would you have reckoned we’d have gone against the Pies?

I would've booked us down for a repeat of GF.

But tonight the difference was whatever happened in between the goals, stayed out there. We didn't disintegrate.

Just a total different mindset. We want to hurt even when we struggle a bit.

His 1st half was the best half of footy hes played IMO. Complete consummate performance.

Was hitting the contest hard and presenting well.
He put in two big shifts on the outer wing - both times scoring a stoppage and then a turnover.

Has made massive improvements in his pressure and general intensity this year. Tackles to hurt (sometimes) and I love it.

He's had a good year IMO. Previously I reckon he'd go missing for large parts of games and also whole games here and there. He's had a couple of quiet patches this year but has managed to get involved much, much more. For Wood that will be the key IMO, when he's involved and out of his own headspace I think he makes stuff happen. Good game last night, kept us involved before the cavalry arrived for mine.

interesting view as i sort of saw him as the opposite last night, looked to be up and about in the 1st when we were getting smashed, then relatively quiet foe the rest of the game.

That’s cos he clearly read my post and was inspired by it. I tend to do that.

Last night was the first time I have seen him be the man to turn things around. In the second quarter recovery he was the man in the forward line. Had a massive impact on the game as a result.

Seems to me he might be making the transition from “talent” to “gun”. At least I hope that’s what I’m seeing.

Unless this is a straight swap for Papley or a first rounder I really don't like it and let's be honest it won't be for those things.

He's actually become pretty valuable as the second/third target depending on where Larkey is floating about. We don't really have that option otherwise (somebody not injury prone)... perhaps we do have positive word from another forward target if there's anything in this.
