This is a seriously good Pakistan fast bowling line up with Shaheen, Naseem, Rauf and Hasnain, they are all rapid and skillful.

They would have a lot of test standard batting line ups in trouble on this pitch let alone this Big Bash standard batting line up.

Australia on a losing streak of 2 shortly after a winning streak of 16 (including a WC win one year ago) and there are people calling for George Bailey to be sacked as selector? 🤪

I just think young kids just don't want to play a long slow sport anymore. We also only have 26 million people.
If this is a dig at the population on India and the potential depth, you'd be surprised by how much of the 1.5 billion that actually have the access to coaching and development that isn't questioned in Australia. In Australia it's, how do we convince kids to play cricket. In Asia it's how do we get access to the potential depth and give those from rural areas the coaching. It's only a very limited number of kids that get the same access to training centres and equipment and coaching that are available in Australia and England Also, Bangladesh have 200mil+, yet they struggle to put sides together as well.

I checked the scorecard , and it's been discussed but what's the point of rolling out a b side for a decider.

I don't get the prioritise the test series, well for starters just play both , how much rest do players need.

Secondly don't fixture it this way then?

It's either important and matter or don't bother .

Hence why no one gives a **** when the team doesn't anyway.

I would argue that’s it’s fine to not have the test players play in this game, especially the bowlers.

But I agree this series is weirdly scheduled. Probably should’ve started a little earlier so you can have full strength sides

Of course a Test series will get prioritised over limited overs cricket outside of World Cups, that’s absolutely nothing new and hasn’t hindered our ability to win major tournaments in ODIs.

Well, I guess Australia’s batting collapse is now the second-funniest thing I’ve seen today. Good grief…
There are people on here that can actually recall Australia being on a 14 game winning streak only 2 months ago, so forgive me for not calling for selectors to be sacked or thinking players are hacks/out of form after a couple of poor performances.

No, I looked at others. Australia has 6 primary venues and they are all decent sized.

Even Lucknow in India which is one of the smaller ones, the straighter boundaries are around 70 metres and the square ones are 63-65.

I’m not sure what you consider ‘many’ of the Indian venues.
Mohali’s boundaries are mostly about 75 metres, some areas are just below 70.
The Sawai Mansingh ground’s boundaries are almost 80 metres everywhere except right on square where they would be about 65 if the pitch is in the centre of the square.

Like I said, it’s an automatic assumption that people make that is rarely founded on fact.
You’re right that it’s an automatic assumption.

The problem is where they put the ropes.

So it’s not so much the size of the ground, as the size of the field of play.

Geez there are a few blokes who’ve been given opportunities that have blown them this week.

Stoinis
Hardie
JFM

Short has been okay but seems to have a habit of pumping the ball straight at fielders

Connolly unlucky but probably getting a shot before he’s ready

The real tragedy is that for the 3rd game in a row there’s nothing on the tv from 8 o’clock because they can’t even see out 40 overs let alone 50
