It might not look it but it is a decent crowd atm. Very Pakistan to injure your best bowler throwing it in from the deep with no chance of a runout.

I was being a little sarcastic.....there was a time the stands would be full, but these days not so.

Cost of living, insipid performances, and the demand for instantaneous gratification (T20) is all taking a toll.

And yes, very Pakistan indeed!

Pretty subdued at the ground atm

Just talking shop with the boys one thing being talked about .. why are the test players resting when the first test is in Perth ?? What better preparation for the test .. to play a game on the ground ?? Against a world class bowling attack that swings and bowls genuine pace ?

Suppose Cummins and co can’t be asked ?

Because they're.....preparing.

Apparently.

Fox might need to ring 9 and borrow some Rush Hour or Lethal Weapon movies given how early this might be all over... :$
they'll be fine. probably have the "Best of David Warner commentated by David Warner" on standby.

He's a franchise domestic player thrust into an actual game of cricket.

The Fraser-McGurk hype is really unbelievable. Will be nothing more than a T20 slogger and doesn't cut it as an opener in this format.

No footwork at all and ordinary technically.

Franchise cricket is definitely his sweet spot until he learns how to bat. This year's IPL was manna from heaven for people like him who have limited technique but can slog. His backlift is a problem even before we look at his lack or foot movement.

Ps: media already reporting it as 'brain dead cricket'
they need to look at the whole picture (in no particular order):
  • scheduling
  • marketing/advertising for the games
  • players selected
  • player rotation
  • performance (lack of)
  • etc
