The one time Warner is worth listening to is when he's talking very current insights - current players and their habits, or coaching and training, and what/how players are taught.

So you've got Warner talking about outfielding in T20 and how players are taught to do it... then flog Waugh jumps in with "well you can be alert all the time, and here's how I used to do different/better as a close-in fielder 25 years ago."

The bar for cricket commentary is so incredibly low in Australia, especially when Warner is coming off as the insightful one.

I don't give a single **** what you were doing 25 years ago when you have a guy a year off retirement telling me exactly what and how players are taught!

I don't think I've ever listened to a Mark Waugh sentence and thought "huh, that was insightful / interesting".

Warner has certainly exceeded my admittedly low expectations.
