He didn't do a lot around the ground however I thought a lot of his clearances from packs were excellent. Sometimes that stuff goes unnoticed but when you see the ball fly out with a quick handball and someone gets a clear kick away then it's worth checking who go it out. Harris is quiet often that player.
Our whole midfield has been ordinary so far however consider the scrappy tactics of the opposition and I think we can cut them a bit of slack. StKilda next week will be a different story as they are ball players with silky skills so our boys will have their first decent hitout against a team that wants to play football.

Congradulations Harris,

Looking forward to more double-digit clearance games and watching you scoop that ball up off the deck with one hand at full pace more frequently in blue and white. The man is class.

Hasn't had the best of seasons but he second half against Sydney was very encouraging

Has the class and the tenacity to make it work for him.

Hmm...I thought he played well against the swans  His evading was good, got some nice quick handballs out and I actually saw a fair bit of him in comparison to the Carlton game when he was non-existant. Oh well, I suppose I'm one of the few people to base someones game on how they appeared to play rather than on what the raw statistics say..

I still can't believe how good he is, he was about to be delisted in 2002 but Laidley kept him for 2003 and had 14 matches and in 2004 he was the best player for us nearly every match.

Don't think that is quite correct.
He was about to leave because Pagan did not rate him and he thought he would not get a crack at the midfield under Pagan.
He stayed because Pagan didn't.
I agree he is a bright prospect and showed plenty last year. Needs to get cracking this year.

Correct, from what I understand.

Good on Harro. He has busted his arse and genuinely worked on his game in the past two years. I also was happy with him grinding through the Sydney game and coming out with an ok performance.

He will bust into form soon.

As long as the team does enough to get over the line I do not really care. Knocking over the Saints will be 3 wins against teams fighting for spots in the top 8. These are as good as two wins. Trying not to get too far ahead but being 3-0 with games against Collingwood and Hawthorn to follow could give us a fantastic start to the season.

It is VERY important we bowl over the Saints, they have given us a spanking in both games last year and it is time for some payback.

I remember reading an article on Harro preseason.

He reckoned Laids was trying to expand on his game by trying to get him picking up more non contested possy's. This was to get him reading the play a bit better and getting on the end of the odd handball or short pass and not just diving willy nilly into packs at every opportunity.

With this in mind it may take him a while to get used to a new style of play, also the new ruck set up may not suit his style of play either.

I watched him last night and he was very ordinary. He only had one tackle

He lacks match fitness....well he lacks fitness overall....thought we were happy with his fitness, doesnt look like he has fixed that problem.

He will play well soon just need to have confidence in him.

i think he is carrying some sort of injury. im not 100% sure but this look the case, it might be similar to harvey last year with an ankle injury that ristricted him and everyone had bagged him but yesterday it looked like boomer has overcome that injury. also i think harris had limited preseason. lets not ride him off now

Yer i agree he just doesn't look right atm.

He is not playing as much as he was last year and looks twice as buggered as he did last year so he doesn't look fit. His long periods on the bench puts the pressure on other players but Firrito and Grima have done well in the middle I think.

Harro is an in and under player, those guys usually play like that out of instinct not because they are trained that way. I think he is a bit out of form and doesn't look 100% but am pretty confident it is not a permanent thing.

Yeah spoke to one of harros friends today and they said that he was having scans done on his groin area today or tomoro. Will be a big blow for him and the club if he does have op.

If it is the case, then lets get him fixed up now if at all possible. At the moment we are winning and he contributing very little so he won't be a huge loss.

Try to get him up a running for the business end of the season. It'd be nice to bring in two quality players (Harris and Motlop) who are fresh at some stage in the 2nd half of the season.
