Great effort to get 4 blokes in the squad, although looking at the big picture probably a little fortunate.

My probabilities on each of our candidates making the final 22:

Milney - 50% - no better than him in his position, but he'll never be a popular choice. If it was done on merit he'd be picked, but the selection is sadly much more political than that

Seany D - 30% - a great season from Dempster but he lacks the media profile to make the final cut

Lenny - 10% - Very impressive season from the champ, but hard to see him nabbing a spot against a raft of quality mids. Only a slim chance after he was laughably denied in 2010

Roo - (less than) 1% - Much better than last season, but a long way from his 4x AA best form. No chance of making the team

North board flogs are pissed dempster got in. I fink there a wittle upset over dempster treating boomer so badwy.

haha just saw that.. but Thompson is top 3 in intercept marks 4 weeks ago so must be better.... Only one issue with that arguement in that Dempster was also top 3 and is also 4th in total marks in AFL and top 30 in one percenters, 20th rebound 50’s, 25th contested marks

Fact is in every single stat there is absolutely nothing between the two. Thompson is bit unlucky not to make it, but its not as clear cut as they'd have you believe

LOL ^^ I think Milney's a great chance to make it 2 in a row. He kicked enough goals again and I believe selectors don't need much convincing to put a small forward in. Betts hasn't been near as good.
Milney got a lot of recognition from the media this year, probably because he went past Coleman. He should break Lowes record next year too if he keeps going at this rate. What a remarkable career he's had.
Theres lots of great defenders this year, SeanyD will be stiff to miss i think.

Probably agree with that although I might rate the probabilities of each of them getting in the final 22 a little higher, especially Milney who would have to be the leading small forward candidate again this year.

Dempster would be deserving of selection in the final 22 but I wouldn't be surprised to see him miss out to higher profile candidates.

Both Hayes and Riewoldt have had pretty good years but there are other stronger candidates in their positions that will probably get picked ahead of them, although Hayes should get in this year to make up for being robbed in 2010.

Good effort to have 4 representatives in the squad though which is better than a lot of other clubs.

They do, the selectors that is, as they will always prioritise assists over goals scored considering it's a "team" dynamic as opposed to a forward line where'd you'd basically go "Jack+Hawkins+Buddy+Pav+Petrie+Milne" as the top 6 Coleman or as they did a few years back with Swan in the FP.

The little Harvey must have been out of form the last 5 times they've played the Saints.

(39 kicks in those 5 games)

They are upset because we man him up 80 metres off the ball where he gets his cheap kicks, running forward without a care in the world. Must be one of the most over-rated players of all time. Plays the game like it is a non-contact sport.

It is amazing how many non-north people agree when you mention it.

#bradscott

I still don't get how a "tough guy" can be such a sook.

"The AFL has asked Brad Scott to explain his behaviour after he verbally abused Greater Western Sydney veteran James McDonald during the quarter-time break of Saturday's game."

"Brad Scott says Kangaroo midfielder Jack Ziebell’s four week ban for rough conduct against Carlton’s Aaron Joseph was a "really sad day" for football."

"Brad Scott has admitted his guilt but insists he intended no malice after receiving an official AFL warning for approaching goal umpires after his side's loss to the Sydney Swans in round four."
"Brad Scott has talked to umpires boss Jeff Gieschen about the alarming number of free kicks paid against his side in Sunday's loss to West Coast in Perth. "

"Brad Scott could be in hot water with AFL officials over a reaction to an umpiring decision during a mauling from the Western Bulldogs."

It would be a shame if his whining has rubbed off on the supporters.
