Fox got the 3rd most POTY votes against top 4 sides this year. Pretty bloody good for a medium defender!

After the job he did on Kysaiah Pickett he showed it was no fluke when he backed it up on Jeremy Cameron. Guys who pull out their best games in finals are worth their weight in gold.

Most players have a moment or two where their concentration lapses. Fox remains focused for the entire game. As a coach it must be great to be able to assign a role and know your player will carry it out, even if it means rising above his own physical limitations. Fox often reminds me of Rampe at his best. Undersized but never overwhelmed.

The intention of the Swans was always to keep Fox.

Sure! However keeping him was obviously the least of their priorities.

The treatment afforded Fox was poor. No news to him as he had copped being dropped by selectors before . He had also watched Horse faves like the Grohan get heaps of unwarranted games and arguably seasons.

Of the 9 players we have brought to our club this off season, IMO Robbie Fox is the most likely to play senior AFL football in 2017.
Once he learns our game plan, he has the maturity both physically & mentally to deal with the monotonous team meetings & hard work required to demand a spot in the best 22. We seem look to elevate at least one rookie nearly every year which gives everyone on the list hope if they work hard enough.

This has a Dane Rampe feel about it to me!

Currently my favourite player, because of the way he has fought his way into a first picked senior player, but mainly because he was the only one that gave me some little pleasure on Grand Final day last year. He was brilliant that day & proud to have him as a Swan.

Busy boy!

The award goes to an AFL player(s) who has successfully combined their football commitments while also being engaged in education and training. Throughout his football career, 30-year old Fox has shown a significant commitment to education and personal development in the area of education.
At the end of 2020, he completed a Bachelor of Education at Charles Sturt University and RMIT, a four-year undergraduate degree which he completed over eight years. Following his graduation from Charles Sturt University, he took it upon himself to commence a role at Paddington Primary School on his days off from training to maintain his teaching skills and broaden his network. He is now diligently completing his Master of Business Administration studies through Torrens University.
He has also completed Advanced Diploma of Business - The Management Edge and Diploma of Business through AFL Sportsready.
