The only thing I'm not sure what will happen is who Trump will try to get annointed as the next GOP nominee for 2028. Will it be Ivanka or Don Junior? To keep the grift going, they announced the new Presidential campaign very soon after the previous two campaigns. That way they can take money through the campaign fund, washing corporate money into campaign salaries to the Trump kids. So I expect that to become quite clear in the first two years. It won't be Vance.

Vance will be lucky serve out his term. The Donald, believes DJ is stupid, however he idolises Ivanka, to a degree that is creepy. She would be the safe money bet. That is if she wants the job. Maybe Jared is the man.

As an aside, there are many parallels between the Trump administration and the Shinawatra administration in Thailand. Both Trump and Thaksin both entered politics after gaining a profile in the business world. Thaksin made his fortune in telecommunications.

Both identified the working class and their ongoing grievances with the political status quo, as vehicle to gain office. The northern region of Thailand and the Isaan (north eastern and poorest region) became a stronghold for Thaksin’s Phua Thai party. Thaksin offered financial inducements to large swathes of the rural electorate to get out and vote.

Both have enabled a culture of nepotism into their respective administrations. Thaksin’s sister Yingluck succeeded him, when he fled the country facing various charges of corruption. Yingluck, herself has subsequently fled Thailand and still lives in exile. Thaksin’s daughter is the current Prime Minister despite lacking the wherewithal for the job, while Thaksin plays puppet master.

Most importantly, both see politics as a means to further personal wealth. Thaksin did not move his private companies into a trust when appointed PM. Thaksin created his own lottery enterprise in competition with the existing one run by the royal household. He used his position in office to acquire land holdings at discounted price for his wife and negotiated an infrastructure contract with neighbouring Myanmar to the advantage of his telecommunications business, using government money to finance the deal.

The one major difference is Thailand is a monarchy. Thaksin ingratiated himself with the current king over a number years. This allowed him a return from exile. However, the real power behind the monarchy is the army. At present there is an uneasy truce between the government and the army. And this has helped keep some of Thaksin’s worst impulses in check.
The last thing he, or Thailand desire is another coup.

And that’s the kicker here; With the recent SCOTUS decision to grant immunity from actions deemed as part of his brief as POTUS, who’s going to rein in the excess’s of Trump?

I'll give a recent example. A friend wanted to enrol their daughter in school. Went to the allocated local public schools. It was soon apparent these schools had adopted left wing gender and identity politics in to the curriculum. This guy and his wife are also government empployees where the same ideologies are rife, so they can see it when its there. They are both aetheists. The kid will not be going to a public school.

The trick is to be in that 1%-its a growing number of people.

Your friend is either imaginary or a ****ing idiot.

Appreciate the good will in your response bro!

I would say my thinking is closest to c)

I’m not disputing any of the issues against trump. I just think it’s extremely lazy thinking to think it’s all because Americans or at least trump voters are simple and dumb. It’s so so much more nuanced than this. And simplistic thinking like this essentially exonerates and ignores the significant systemic issues the dems refuse to accept and adjust to.
OK, so Trump's a terrible person, but he's the only one with any intention of fixing things. I accept that, though I disagree. (And it doesn't address the problematic fact that if he's spent so long showing us that beyond any doubt, we're not to believe a word he says, what confidence can anyone have that he will do a single thing he promised to do?)

But also I see you subtly shifting away from what I'm talking about.

I'm not calling people dumb for voting for Trump.

I'm saying they're voting for someone who is a liar and a cheat. I see next to no acknowledgement of that indisputable fact, which to me is the overriding and unavoidable impediment to his fitness for office.

I can't see how anyone can in good conscience vote for such a shameless liar and cheat, except in the extremely hypothetical scenario that his opponent is scrupulously honest, but unfortunately also a mass murderer.

To me, honesty overrides all else.

A few facts to have up your sleeve next time a Trumpeteer is on the verge of soiling themselves with excitement.

The electoral college map is dominated by red rather than blue. There's your landslide!

He won - why can’t it be just that simple?

He won the un-winnable

All of Kamala's war chest of donation money and celebrity power did nothing but help her campaign drive off a cliff Thelma and Louise style.

But everybody knows that Kid Rock and Hulk Hogan are better than Beyonce and Taylor Swift!!

Unreal innit?

I ask myself "How ****ing delusional and devoid of introspection and self reflection can these morons be?"

And then I log on BF and see it all in its glory, and the answer is "Very, very much"

Congress might be full of complete idiots, but between the Dems and a handful of Republicans they might be able to avert the worst (dismantling of democracy) for 2 more years. Things happen slowly in Washington and the mid-terms come around quick.

Meaningless-just a conservative dismissal of reasonable ideas so they don’t have to accept anything that is fair and decent as far as I can see.
They are essentially mean people.

haha. The cope is big in this one.

Everyon knows woke means the hyper-political correctness by hypocritical pretentious, privileged twats.

There, I said it.

Cope some more.

Who's the ****ing idiot now?
As we're seeing in the US. Just because more people are doing stupid things, doesn't make those stupid things any less stupid.

Keeping these kids out of my kids' school is good for everyone. They're the parents who take up 90% of the teachers' time complaining about stuff which has nothing to do with the three R's.

Another one for the " it's ok when conservatives do it " :tm: file -

'dat outrage over Hunter Biden when Mayor McCheese pardoned these 3 worms

bannon - stone - flynn

THA' **** OUTTA HERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRE * mafioso hand flick *

The difference is Republicans don't claim to be the gatekepper of all that is good and virtuous. They don't accuse anyone whon isn't them as being not decent. They don't claim to "go high, when others go low"

For someone so focused on education, you make a lot of spelling mistakes.

Perhaps you should concentrate on the basics?

WTF are you talking about? That's practically all that they do. The GOP are banning books at an historic rate.

You're no-one to judge who is stupid. That attitude confirms the arrogance, condescencion lack of self-awareness capacity for introspection of the stereotypical leftist , even when facts are thown in your faces you simply cannot ignore or dismiss.

Even now after a landslide election disaster they-like you just did- call them stupid

But you guys do you..we'll just win elections and make laws and shape society to our will. You guys won hahaha

No they don't. They simply say this is what we believe in.

Books that sexualize children should be banned in primary schools. Why do you have a problem with it?
